The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Mission Statement:
Contribute to improving Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance of company Responsibility in assigned geography. Support the business by applying in-depth knowledge to offer solutions and advice support the India operation center HSE department /business by applying in-depth knowledge to offer solutions and advice through delivery of improvement programs across assigned area.
Your Roles & Responsibilities.
HSE- KPI Monitoring on Weekly Basis to ensure we are on track on HSE performance.
Supervise and monitor Permit to work (PTW) compliance in the Lab and other high-risk activities.
As Intelex admin to ensure reported hazards are addressed with detailed analysis.
Safety Orientation for new joiners, interns and visitors.
Assist during ISO audit to ensure there is no NCR during the external assessment.
Provide oversight to ensure mandatory HSE training are provided for colleagues including new joiners.
ISO Audit support during internal audit and certification.
Provide HSE supervision for lab while loading and unloading the cubicles to ensure all HSE practices are complying.
Provide support during incident investigation with Tripod tool to arrive root cause of incident.
Verify ABRA - Activity Based Risk assessment for all routine and non-routines activities to ensure all residual risk are identified and mitigation measures in place.
Support ERT team in case of emergency.
Provide defensive driving program with help of external agency to create awareness on road safety.

Your background:
University level education in a relevant discipline (e.g. engineering, safety, NEBOSH certificate or equivalent).
Minimum 6-10 years of experience in a HSE function, With overseas global experience.
Should have hands on experience as HSE engineers to lead large project or Manufacturing locations.
Should have basic knowledge on local pollution control boards regulations and Factories act/ Rules.
Good knowledge on risk assessment for high-risk activities to ensure residual risk are identified and CAPA in place.
Excellent knowledge of HSE regulatory requirements (e.g. Legislation, ISO 45001, ISO14001).
Knowledge on Power BI, Share Point, Microsoft Forms is added advantage.
