HR Solutions Team


The HR Solutions Team drives the highest impact programs and prioritized projects for business groups, functions, and HR. This organization is responsible for developing and implementing business-focused solutions through iterative and collaborative approaches, partnering directly with clients and stakeholders to achieve desired and sustainable outcomes.


This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.


The Impact You’ll Make in this Role


As a HR Solutions Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Lead and/or participate in the delivery of complex and global change projects in support of business objectives
  • Leverage strong project management capability by leading diverse HR projects across multiple disciplines
  • Partner with leaders to execute restructuring plans in alignment with business priorities, portfolio decisions, operating model changes, etc.
  • Provide expertise on strategic workforce planning, including identifying current and anticipated capabilities and aligning the appropriate strategies to address (e.g., internal capability building, external talent acquisition strategies, etc.)
  • Partner with subject matter experts across HR’s Centers of Excellence by developing and implementing strategic priorities
  • Design and redesign HR processes to align to 3M's operating model and new HR structure (potential, performance, promotion, etc.)
  • Create and implement employee engagement initiatives to meet specific or nuanced needs within a Business group or function

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Five (5) years of Human Resources and/or Project Management experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Experience working on complex projects with change management implications
  • Experience partnering with clients to achieve desired objectives
  • Diverse project management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with Agile methodology
  • Experience with strategic workforce planning
  • Experience with or demonstrated knowledge of change management, including identifying change impacts, creating and implementing mitigation strategies, and measuring change process/success
  • Experience designing / redesigning global HR processes for efficiency.
  • Diverse experience across multiple HR disciplines (plant, business, COEs, etc.) preferred
  • Global HR experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual proficiency preferred
  • Flexibility with schedule to accommodate US time zone in global

Work location: Hybrid


Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
