Job Family Definition:
Provide technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet customers’ business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers’ businesses. As trusted advisor create and maintain effective customer relationships so as to insure customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of leading edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge. Actively contribute to the company’s solutions portfolio by providing information ranging from technical knowledge to methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects. Shape technical direction and technical strategies within the organization and for external customers. Accountable for consistent and significant chargeability levels (or expense relief for internal project teams) and for assisting in meeting or exceeding revenue and customer satisfaction goals. Contribute to organization’s profitability by generating and cultivating new business opportunities and by providing technical support for deal proposal development.
Management Level Definition:
Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
What you’ll do:
Responsibilities:
Maintain a Multi-node Linux based Cluster, Storage and Backup Infrastructure.
Reporting to site on 9x5, 5 days a week, but available on call after office hours, when on roster.
Monitor site DC Infrastructure for any problems and report to Infra team for remediation.
Will include HW repair as well as SW upkeep of the system.
Maintain best practices on managing systems uptime, coordinate and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes.
Create and modify scripts or applications to perform the above task.
Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
Collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma holders will be considered, if they have good technical acumen and critical thinking.
Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for atleast 1-2 years.
Working knowledge of RPM based Linux distributions.
Familiarity with Clusters will be an advantage but not a strict requirement.
Exposure to any scripting language will be handy.
Knowledge of the workings of Linux internals, including DNS, DHCP, Network booting, etc,
Linux certifications will be considered an advantage.
Strong problem solving and communication skills.
What you need to bring:
Candidate(s) should possess minimum qualification of B.E/B.Tech or equivalent with strong experience in hardware troubleshooting skills with high end servers and storage. Linux system administration, RHEL certification & working knowledge with Parallel file system is desirable. Understanding with cluster managers (Rocks, Xcat, OpenHPC etc.), workload manager (PBS, Slurn, Moab, Torq etc..), IB Technologies, Scripting (Shell/Bash, Python etc.)
Education and Experience Required:
3 - 5 years of technical experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, two additional years of relevant professional experience (5-7 years in total).
Knowledge and Skills:
Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the implementation of a specific deliverable.
Able to contribute to the design for deliverables.
Has ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on individual products.
Able to communicate broad and specific concepts with team and to peers.
Able to produce documentation for use by team and customer.
