About the job Hotel Receptionist (relocate to East Africa)

Job Overview


Our client, a distinguished hospitality group in East Africa, is looking for an attentive and customer-focused Hotel Receptionist to join their front desk team. The ideal candidate will manage guest services with a warm, welcoming attitude, ensuring a memorable guest experience from check-in to check-out.


Key Responsibilities


  • Guest Check-in & Check-out: Manage the front desk operations, including efficient check-in/check-out processes and room assignment.
  • Customer Service: Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Reservation Management: Handle room reservations, modifications, and cancellations in the hotels booking system.
  • Billing and Payments: Process guest payments and maintain accurate records of transactions, invoices, and expenses.
  • Communication: Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest services, including housekeeping, maintenance, and room service.
  • Information Resource: Provide guests with information about the hotel amenities, local attractions, and dining options in the area.

Qualifications


  • Experience: 1-3 years in a receptionist or front desk role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Education: Diploma or certification in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is a plus.

Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software (PMS experience preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, guest-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and stay calm under pressure.
