Job DescriptionPurpose of the role
To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
Accountabilities
- Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems to.
- Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
- Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank’s internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams and legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
- Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime.

Step into the role of the Head of KYC Advisory Compliance, where you will lead the KYC Advisory team, focusing on transforming the KYC journey across various business units. This role involves driving the transformation strategy, developing AML/CTF policies, collaborating with stakeholders, and enhancing the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) function. Key responsibilities include managing change programs, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring effective stakeholder management. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to lead complex changes, and effective decision-making to improve processes and controls within the financial crime compliance framework.
To be successful as a Head of KYC Advisory, you should have experience with:
- Experience in program management and/or delivering and embedding change
- Subject matter expertise in AML/CTF, with a focus on higher risk sectors, products and industries
- Knowledge of regulatory environment globally and risk management with exposure to anti-money laundering and/or Financial Crime matters
- Strategic mindset and ability to translate high level requirements into practical, proportionate, workable solutions at the operations level
- Experience of working in a global organizational environment
- Ability to work in a program led environment
- Understanding of risk and control frameworks
- First class written and oral communication skills
- Be comfortable in fast moving and complex environments and be able to move effortlessly between strategic topics to day-to-day requirements
