Purpose of your role
The purpose of this role is to partner with the Global Head of Client Propositions and other senior leaders within the function, to provide high-quality financial insights, advice and challenge, as well as to assist the CFO, Global Distribution and Client Proposition, in supporting the achievement of the strategy and goals of the ISS business.
Key elements of the role include:
- Business partnering with the key senior members of the Global Client Propositions (GCP) team. This will involve the development of a broad understanding of the Fidelity business model and a deep understanding of all aspects of asset management, especially product & propositions development & management, including all financial drivers.
- Building credibility through the provision of clearly presented financial information, constructive challenge and valued advice, supporting the goal of delivering real value and influence over decision making within this critical part of the business.
- Ensuring that the strategic initiatives of the GCP, including those that are central to the Solutions, ETFs, Product and Proposition development, are founded in robust financial analysis.
- Delivery of business finance services to GCP on a global basis, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, management reporting, business case construction, pricing strategy, governance and support and expense & headcount scrutiny.
- Supporting the CFO, Global Distribution and Client Proposition and CFO, ISS in building a cohesive, empowered and motivated ISS Business Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Owning the finance relationship with the GCP team including key stakeholders on the CP Leadership Team and other senior leaders within distribution and investment management.
- Provide financial insight, guidance and challenge to stakeholders, supporting decision making and the achievement of GCP objectives and broader ISS strategy.
- Provide Finance support to pricing and commercial relationship discussions with other Fidelity Companies.
- Collaborate closely with Finance colleagues supporting Corporate Enablers, Investment and Operations to ensure decisions are joined up and in the wider interests of the ISS business and FIL.
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to stakeholders / finance team members to provide deeper financial insight and facilitate stakeholder thinking and decisions, for example to support product construction and strategic pricing decisions or decisions on remuneration structures for distribution team.
- Assist with the identification of cost savings, efficiencies and productivity enhancing opportunities. Assist in the development and maintenance of a sound financial control environment.
- Drive continuous improvement and timely delivery of regular MI, automating and standardising with wider group MI where possible including the ongoing development, production and eventual automation of Fidelity’s profit and loss and management reporting. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of information systems and data.
- Guide, coach and develop the ISS finance members based in the UK, Luxembourg, Asia and India including prioritizing the activities of the finance team based in India and Dalian.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Experience of business finance partnering roles with senior internal clients
- Experience of the asset management industry and knowledge of its financial and operational drivers.
- Able to command respect from senior stakeholders and peers, comfortable playing a part in senior management discussions.
- Ability to lead, influence, challenge, advise and offer alternative perspectives or solutions.
- Accomplished communicator, able to present and articulate information concisely and with conviction.
- Capable of identifying information requirements and reviewing, designing and improving reporting and other processes.
- Strong collaboration and team-working skills, ideally with experience of working in a matrix and international environment.
- Ability to develop and enhance the performance of team members.
- Able to multi-task and prioritise under pressure.
