Job Description

Land Acquisition Strategy & Management: Develop and implement land acquisition strategies for large-scale power sector projects, such as solar parks or other industrial power facilities. Identify and engage with land aggregators to streamline and expedite the land acquisition process.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (project managers, technical teams, etc.) to understand land requirements and ensure timely acquisition in line with project deadlines.


Documentation & Legal Compliance: Draft, review, and execute critical documents such as Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), Letters of Intent (LoIs), agreements for sale, conveyance deeds, part performance agreements, Power of Attorney (PoA), and other legal documents related to land transactions. Ensure compliance with land title verification, due diligence, land maps, and title search reports to confirm the authenticity of the land and secure legal ownership.Facilitate the completion of all government procedures related to land acquisition, including approvals from local, state, and central government authorities.


Field Work & Negotiations: Directly engage with landowners to negotiate and acquire land, ensuring that the acquisition meets project specifications and legal requirements. Conduct field assessments and surveys to confirm the suitability of land for solar and other power sector installations. Address landowner concerns and resolve disputes to ensure smooth land transfers.


Government Liaison & Regulatory Compliance: Build and maintain strong relationships with revenue officials, local government bodies, and other relevant government departments to ensure alignment with land acquisition regulations. Ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements, including zoning and land-use permits, are met for the intended purpose of the land. Coordinate with private and government survey teams to ensure the completion of land inspections and surveys.


ROW (Right of Way) Management: Coordinate with execution teams to facilitate ROW management and ensure timely acquisition of land parcels needed for power transmission and distribution lines.Support the planning and execution of land leasing and possession processes, including field verification and acquisition formalities.


Technical and Environmental Considerations: Ensure that land acquired for power sector projects meets technical specifications and environmental requirements, including land suitability for solar power installations.Work with environmental teams to ensure compliance with environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and other sustainability considerations during the land acquisition process.


Land Lease & Possession: Oversee and manage the entire lease and possession process for acquired land, ensuring legal transfer of land rights and ensuring possession is transferred to the company in a timely manner. Coordinate with legal teams to ensure that lease agreements and related documentation are executed accurately and efficiently.


Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders on the status of land acquisition, challenges, and solutions.Facilitate smooth communication between all stakeholders, including internal teams, landowners, legal departments, and government bodies.


Risk Management & Mitigation: Identify potential risks in the land acquisition process, including legal disputes, delays, and land title issues, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Implement solutions to resolve conflicts or issues related to land acquisition that may arise during or after the process.
