Job Description:


In the HPE Chief Technology Office, we lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for all of HPE. This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Working with customers, we help them reimagine their information technology needs to deliver a simple, consumable solution that helps them drive their business results.


The Hybrid Cloud Analytics and Reporting (HCAR) team works is looking for a self-directed, motivated, and structured professional who is passionate about analyzing data and working with people to develop reporting insights to drive the business forward.


We are a small team, geographically dispersed, that works in a highly collaborative environment.  You will need to analyze data to find trends, issues, and insights that can be clearly communicated to the Hybrid Cloud leadership team. As a Hybrid Cloud Operations Reporting Specialist, the person in this role will contribute to the success of the business by supporting the leadership team with their data analysis, process improvements, and strategic insights.


  • Data Analysis: Define and produce the metrics/reports, in a time sensitive environment, used to measure storage business performance.


  • Process improvements: Improve the efficiency in producing deliverables from the HCAR team.


  • Strategic insights: Work on cross functional teams to provide the data analysis used in developing insights necessary to move the business forward.


What you’ll do:


  • Manages complex data and business analyses to develop business plans and identifies recommendations and insight.


  • Establishes the metrics required to measure business performance and develops the process for identifying and addressing performance gaps.


  • Works with cross-functional teams across the entire span of business planning activities.


  • Develop, prototype and test data models with business teams while understanding the use cases for information & operational data


  • Design and develop PowerBI dashboards to support the business with data & insights.


  • Ability to analyze existing ETL code in SQL and determine impacts and remediation.


  • Ability to analyze and create database schema DDL/instance layout and determine impacts migrating to new target schema/instance environment.


  • Experience with ETL Operational Support and maintenance projects and run various tests such as unit, regression, integration, mappings, workflows.


  • Work with team members from other business functional and technology areas to develop effective BI & Analytics solutions


  • Ideate and assist in Data Science projects in collaboration with BU Analysts and Product teams.


  • Prepare documentation including Requirements and Design documents, Configuration Workbooks, Test Cases other documentation as required through the project lifecycle


  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to translate ambiguous business requirements into complex analyses and actionable insights


  • Identifies cutting-edge analytical tools, models, and methods for making key business decisions.


  • Support Ad hoc reporting/ review requirements and manage the regular loads across different sources.


  • Train/guide other team members on BI tools and technologies


What you need to bring:


  • 7+ years of experience with SQL/SSIS, Hive or other database design & setup
  • 7+ years of experience in operational, management or financial reporting
  • 3+ years of experience reviewing and writing Technical & Business Requirements in relation to Business Intelligence, Data Management or software development projects
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data strategy and the ability to manage complex data requests.


  • Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.


  • Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to business analysis.


  • Extensive knowledge of SQL, Excel, Power BI, statistical analysis, and database modeling.


  • Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.


  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.


  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work easily with client personnel


  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.


  • Ability to identify and summarize relevant trends from market and industry data.
