Job Description: HashiCorp Engineer
Location: Hinjewadi, Pune
Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled HashiCorp Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault and Terraform, along with a strong understanding of security practices and infrastructure management. This role involves implementing and managing cloud security solutions, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Software Requirements:
- Proficient in HashiCorp Vault, including architecture, secret engines, authentication methods, API, and CLI.
- Hands-on experience with HashiCorp Terraform for infrastructure delivery.
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
Overall Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage HashiCorp Vault, ensuring efficient secret management and security controls.
- Diagnose and resolve Vault-related issues, optimizing performance.
- Collaborate on integration efforts with other systems, applications, and identity providers.
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and ensure compliance with security best practices.
- Automate deployment and configuration tasks to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align security protocols with business objectives.
Category-wise Technical Skills:
- HashiCorp Vault:
- Hands-on experience with Vault implementation and management.
- Knowledge of Vault architecture, secret engines, and authentication methods.
- Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve Vault-related issues and optimize performance.
- Relevant Certifications:
- HashiCorp Vault certifications and other relevant security or cloud certifications.
- Project Experience:
- Proven experience with Vault implementations or migrations in comparable industries.
- Integration Expertise:
- Experience integrating Vault with various systems and identity providers.
- HashiCorp Terraform:
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for delivering infrastructure.
- Security Background:
- Understanding of cryptography, key management systems, and compliance standards.
- Infrastructure and DevOps Skills:
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub).
- Containerization and Orchestration:
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container security principles.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Proficiency in scripting languages and automation of tasks.
Experience:
- Proven hands-on 8 years experience in HashiCorp Vault and Terraform.
- Experience in troubleshooting and performance tuning of Vault.
- Project experience in implementing Vault in relevant industries is critical.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Manage and implement HashiCorp Vault solutions, ensuring adherence to security standards.
- Optimize Vault performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Vault with existing systems and applications.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Terraform.
- Provide guidance on best practices for security and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in HashiCorp Vault and other security/cloud certifications are a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to work, with a strong emphasis on delivering quality results.
