Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Data Scientist to join our Go-to-Market Analytics team. As a highly motivated Data Scientist with strong organizational and technical skills, you will leverage predictive models, machine learning, and generative AI to drive business insights and facilitate informed decision-making. Your contributions will help Thomson Reuters rapidly scale data-driven initiatives and create revenue opportunities for our stakeholders.


About the Role:


In this opportunity as Senior Data Scientist:


  • Analyze complex datasets, applying advanced statistical methods as needed (e.g., time series forecasting, classification, linear/logistic regression).


  • Design and deploy algorithmic solutions based on data science and technology to meet business needs.


  • Deploy, scale, and monitor data solutions in a production environment.


  • Translate data findings into actionable business insights and strategies.


  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate data-driven recommendations.


  • Present information using data visualization techniques and clearly convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.


About You:


You’re a fit for the role of Senior Data Scientist if your background includes:


  • 6+ years of proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.


  • The role requires the candidate to work from 12 pm - 9 pm IST


  • Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.


  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.


  • Solid understanding and application of advanced statistical techniques and concepts, including machine learning algorithms such as classification, regression, and time series analysis.


  • Practical experience with modern classification algorithms such as XGBoost, LightGBM, AdaBoost and others.


  • Strong problem-solving abilities, business acumen, and excellent communication skills.


  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into data science initiatives.


  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


  • Proven track record of managing and delivering on multiple competing priorities.


  • Experience with stakeholder management and the ability to present complex data clearly to a non-technical audience.


  • Experience building generative AI solutions using Large Language Models, RAG and AI Agents.


  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering.


  • Participation on platforms like Kaggle is a plus.


  • Previous experience with sales and marketing data is advantageous.


  • Familiarity with Tableau and other data visualization tools is preferred.


  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and SageMaker is beneficial.


  • Experience with one or more of the following business analytics applications:


    • Predictive analytics for customer retention, cross-selling, and new customer acquisition


    • Pricing optimization models


    • Segmentation


    • Recommendation engines


    • Proofs of Concept (POCs) in building generative AI solutions (e.g., GPT, Llama)
