Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  1. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to undertake due diligence on the asset, geography, market, competitive environment, regulatory environment, engineering & technical matters, operational requirements and funding alternatives
  2. Liaise with internal and external resources as necessary to verify information presented and ensure that commercial, operational and financial assumptions are reasonable
  3. Prepare, audit and review comprehensive three-statement financial models to project business performance and conduct sensitivity analyses in order to assess potential returns to DP World
  4. Work alongside business units and regional offices in reviewing business plans and stress-testing them for variances in key operational assumptions 
  5. Prepare valuation analysis of a potential opportunity by applying a variety of techniques including discounted cash flow, comparable companies and comparable transactions
  6. Prepare a risk matrix which articulates key risks identified within each project / transaction and mitigating actions (e.g., value adjustment, contractual protections)
  7. Prepare and review project briefs and presentations to secure internal approvals
  8. Assist in the review and negotiation of term sheets and transaction documentation covering, among others, tenders, concessions, financings, share purchase agreements and shareholders agreements
  9. Oversee and manage the overall process within the required timeframe to ensure key deadlines are met
  10. Assist in selection and appointment of external resources including for legal, tax, financial, commercial and technical due diligence, as necessary 
  11. Assist Treasury team in securing financing for projects including preparation of financial models with appropriate covenants to share with third-party lenders
  12. Regular monitoring of completed investments including preparation of Post Investment Reviews
  13. Overtime develop a good business acumen, understanding of our various businesses and strategy 
  14. Continuously ensure compliance with the department policies and procedures used at Head Office and Regional Offices
  15. Assist in other corporate-level initiatives as required, such as supporting the development of regional and corporate strategy
  16. Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned 

JOB CONTEXT



The Corporate Finance & Business Development team is responsible for ensuring financial prudence across all significant investment-related decisions undertaken by the Group.


Role involves evaluation of potential investments from a strategic and commercial perspective, undertaking due diligence, valuation, structuring and assessing the underlying risks and steps to address those risks.



QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS



  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree; and 
  • Professional qualification in accountancy or finance (such as CPA/CIMA/CFA/CMA/ACA/ACCA etc) 
  • 10-12 years total corporate finance work experience with a track record of closing M&A transactions working within a corporate strategy role, or at an reputable investment bank / advisory firm or BIG 4 professional services firm 
  • Excellent Financial Modelling capabilities and familiarity with working on MS Powerpoint / MS Word is essential.
  • Working with Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ databases is desirable
  • Experience in the ports or general infrastructure investment industry, with an ability to demonstrate an understanding of the value of asset intensive, long life, cash generative businesses
  • Very strong analytical skills 
  • High attention to details and ability to multitask 
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
  • Effective business communication skills and fluency in written & spoken English
  • Proficiency in one additional language besides English desireable
  • Decisive thinker with the ability to analyze and understand information using insights to effectively make informed decisions 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, consultatively and inclusively with a range of people
