TMHG, the material handling equipment business unit of TICO, focuses on the development and sales for material handling solutions such as forklifts, energy storage, digital technologies, and automation.
Recently the decision was taken to establish a TICO Engineering hub for the forklift business in Pune, India. This newly established organization will be supporting the TMHG engineering teams worldwide with development centers located in Europe, North America, and Japan.
This role for Group Leader - Electrical Engineering is for this TICO Engineering Hub, which is a sister company of Vanderlande, both part of the parent organization i.e. TICO.
As a Group Leader-Electrical Engineering, you will play a key role in supporting our global development initiatives. You will be responsible for establishing and managing a team of electrical engineers who will work in close collaboration with the onshore stakeholders in the respective TICO entities.
Success in this role will require electrical engineering expertise and an ability to motivate the engineering team in a manner that reflects Toyota’s Core Values. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the globe to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals. Success will require strong technical skills, creativity, problem solving, strong interpersonal skills, drive, and passion. In this role, you will play a key part in helping ensure quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
The Group Leader-Electrical Engineering will report to the TICO Hub leader.
Responsibilities / Key Activities:
The Group Leader-Electrical Engineering has the following responsibilities and key activities:
Operationally establish TICO Engineering Hub for TMHG business.
Recruitment, Onboarding, Training & Line Management of a team of electrical engineers.
Understand the requirements from each onshore stakeholder and translate the requirements into high quality deliverables.
Build and motivate team managing towards clear KPI’s.
Responsible to coordinate workload management of the Engineers within the relevant offshore teams
Drive business growth by developing the competences in the team to enable better performance.
Functions as a technical expert, coordinate complex issues and support engineers in their team.
Cultivating robust communication channels with onsite teams, actively addressing customer needs, and fostering enduring, trusting relationships.

Based at Pune at combined location with VOICE (Engineering hub of Vanderlande with >1000 FTE)
Full time job (100%)
Travel: 10% travel expected on normal basis (to Toyota Material Handling North America and Toyota Material Handling Europe), during first year an increase of up to 20% expected to familiarize with the (TMHG) business and key stakeholders
Education & Experience
We search for a candidate with the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 6-8 years of experience
Understands both the technical service and tactical business administration.
Adaptability and ease in an international & multicultural product-oriented environment.
Experience in building teams of technical professionals, typically in a development center located remote.
Strong problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent analytical abilities, capable of driving team members to rapid technical recommendations
Quality oriented person realizing small errors can have big impact due to mass production.
Strong problem solving and able to handle time sensitive situations, quickly set the right priorities, while maintaining a firm grasp of the details
Requires candidates with good technical knowledge of hardware and software, and experience with integrating electrical sub-systems into larger systems
Foundational knowledge of programming principles (C# & Python), low voltage analog and digital designs and common control system topologies.
Background / experience in the forklift industry and / or automated logistics industry
