Job Description

What you’ll do

Role title: Cloud Platform Practice Lead
Function: VCI India
Department: VCI India – Cloud
Reports to: Head of VCI India    Location: India


Role purpose: 


  • To Architect , Develop & build  Cloud Infrastructure services on Public/Private Cloud environment and technology solutions for European wide internal Vodafone applications and customers. 
  • To design, plan and implement a growing set of public/private cloud platforms and solutions used to provide mission critical infrastructure services to Vodafone internal customers. 
  • To constantly analyse, optimise, migrate and transform the global Vodafone legacy IT infrastructure environment into cloud ready & cloud native solutions
  • Responsible for operations support, including managing level two and level three incident and problem management
  • Work with Application engineering and customers directly to engineer VCI products into various local markets. 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 


  • Manage project driven integration and day-to-day administration of cloud solutions 
  • Develop prototypes, designing and building modules and solutions for Cloud Platforms in an iterative agile cycles, develop, maintain, and optimize the business outcomes
  • Maintain/implement quality and security standards
  • Driving Cloud solution automation and integration activity for Cloud Providers like AWS, GCP, Azure etc. and Tenant (Project) workloads.
  • Build and deploy AWS, GCP and Azure cloud infrastructure by using cloud formation and terraform scripts. Use Ansible & Python to perform routines tasks like user management and security hardening, etc. 
  • Providing professional technical consultancy to migrate and transform existing on-premises applications to Public cloud and support to all Cloud-related programmes and existing environments 
  • Design and deploy direct connect or express route network between AWS/GCP/Azure and datacentre.
  • Responsible for overall Docker/Kubernetes setup, configuration and Architecture. 
  • Configuring and maintaining Docker based environment using kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the Docker and kubernetes environment.
  • Train and develop AWS/GCP/Azure expertise within the organisation.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to resolve issues related with cloud network, storage and performance management. 
  • Support the establishment of DevOps  culture and methodologies
  • handles the entire DevOps lifecycle and  accountable for the implementation of the process
     


Who you are

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:


  • Profound Cloud Technology, Network, Security and Platform Expertise (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Expertise in AWS cloud services like VPC, EC2, ECS, S3, EBS, Glacier, ELB, Elastic IPs, etc.
  • Working experience with AWS service Lambda.
  • Expertise in automation and workflow like Cloud formation templates, Ansible scripts and Python scripts. 
  • DevOps Tools: AWS Codepipeline, HashiCorp Stack (Packer, Terraform etc.), Docker, Kubernetes 
  • Work experience in AWS organisation and multi-tenant accounts setup.
  • Work experience with Google cloud (GCP). - Gsuite Identity, domain management, Gsuite LDAPS setup, Project creation, folder structure management, server less cloud functions, audit and logging. 
  • Integrating apps with Azure AD and configuring single sign-on with SaaS applications, delegating access by adding users and groups to applications or revoking access to SaaS applications and enforcing 2nd Factor Authentication 
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
  • Degree in IT (any), 3 years of experience in cloud computing or 5 years in enterprise IT

Must have technical/professional qualifications: 


  • Adapt in ITIL, SOX and security regulations
  • Three to five years of work experience in programming and /or systems analysis applying agile frameworks
  • Experience with Web applications and Web hosting skills.
  • Experience with DevOps concept in cloud environment.
  • Working experience in managing highly business critical environments.
  • AWS architect/operations associate certification with experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes etc. 
  • Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry preferred
