Job Description

Japan Desk Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and building strong relationships with a growing portfolio of large Japanese muti-national companies operating in India through building trusted relationship with key decision makers, understanding their needs and providing tailored banking solutions. The individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth by increasing share of wallet and acquiring new clients and business opportunities.  


Responsibilities:


  • Strategize growth – market analysis, account planning, pipeline building and regular progress tracking in collaboration with Subsidiary Account Managers (SAM), Regional Account Manager (RAM), Parent Account Managers (PAM) and product partners. Develop client strategies and actionable plans to execute revenue growth.
  • Build strong access to senior decision makers and maintain strategic dialogue
  • Proactively identify customer needs and collaborate with internal teams - SAMs, RAM, PAMs, Japan Desk bankers in other markets and product partners to structure and deliver banking solutions such as cash management, foreign exchange solutions, commodities, loans, etc. that meet clients' requirements.
  • Generate new business opportunities by prospecting, networking, and leveraging existing relationships to expand client base.
  • Help bridge language and cultural barriers between clients and Citi and enhance communication by demonstrating respect for the way the Japanese companies do business, as a result building trust and grow relationship
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes affecting Japanese clients to provide proactive advice and recommendations.
  • Meet or exceed origination targets, revenue goals, and performance metrics set by the bank.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management guidelines.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in corporate banking, commercial banking, relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of corporate banking products and services, including cash management, lending, trade finance, and markets solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, negotiate effectively, and influence decision-makers.
  • A self-starter with proven track record of managing client relationships, meeting sales targets, and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, assess credit risk, and structure financial solutions.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and across organizational functions.
  • Fluent Japanese, spoken and written.
