Cisco Systems, the world’s leading provider of network hardware and software, is currently seeking a trade compliance professional for the Global Customs and Trade Analyst role within its Global Tax and Customs team.
The Cisco Global Customs team is responsible for managing Cisco's customs compliance and related trade activities. This includes being responsible for compliance around the importation of international cross-border shipments, identifying and assessing global risks, developing world-class customs tools, and working effectively with internal business partners to develop end-to-end processes and solutions. We are geographically organized with teams covering the Americas (USA, Latin America & Canada), Asia Pacific, Japan & China (APJC), and Emerging Markets East and European markets (EMEA) theatre, as well as vertically specialized with teams covering key trade related policies and processes such as Valuation, Origin, Classification, Risk and Audit.
The Global Customs and Trade Analyst is a front & back-office role. The candidate will closely partner with Cisco’s Global Tax & Customs Team and various corporate compliance functions and business units to ensure swift management of Trade Compliance information needed to expedite real time trade transactions for Cisco’s internal and external shipments.
A Global Customs Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing a company's customs operations across various international markets. This role involves liaising closely with internal teams, such as Business Units, Logistics, Legal, and Finance, as well as with external partners, including customs brokers, freight forwarders, and governmental authorities. The analyst ensures compliance with international trade regulations, working to mitigate customs risks that could lead to delays, fines, or other penalties.
The Analyst will work on evaluating performance of customs brokers and ensuring adherence of their services to the regulations and contractual obligations. This also includes analysis and review of customs documentation, such as import/export declarations and shipping documents, to ensure accuracy and adherence to relevant regulations and internal policies. By identifying areas for improvement in customs processes, the analyst helps to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.
We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do – you can’t put us in a box!
But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)
Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.
So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us!
