We are seeking a talented Global Category Lead - Additives to join our team. 

In this leadership role, you will guide a global team of Category Sourcing Managers and be responsible for defining and implementing strategies to manage a nearly € 500 million spend while driving year-over-year value. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders across business units and R&D, oversee strategic supplier management for the top 25 vendors, and ensure that all strategies align with AkzoNobel’s corporate sustainability goals

Position location can be based anywhere in South Asia

• Develop and implement global category strategies for Additives to achieve savings and value targets
• Lead a team of Category Sourcing Managers across the globe to drive category performance
• Develop and maintain relationships with top 25 strategic suppliers 
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business units and R&D to ensure alignment of category strategies with overall business goals
• Ensure all strategies align with AkzoNobel’s corporate sustainability goals
• Manage supplier performance and risk, ensuring continuity of supply
• Implement best practices in category management, supplier management, and sourcing processes
• Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends and opportunities

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry with MBA in International Business or Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
• Experience in managing a global team of procurement professionals
• Strong background in category management and sourcing processes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
• Experience in the chemical industry, specifically with Additives, is preferred
