Job Title:  VP, GIDE Consultant & APAC Lead


Reporting Structure: Reports to Global Inclusion Diversity and Equity (GIDE) Managing Director


Role Summary & Responsibilities


The VP, GIDE Consultant & APAC Lead will serve in a dual capacity as a general GIDE Business Consultant, and the APAC Lead for the GIDE Team. They will be expected to provide consultation, industry benchmarking and competitive information related to inclusion, diversity, and equity (IDE) strategies to business units and regional leaders. This person will be responsible for delivering an overall strategy that will position State Street as a best-in-class employer. This leader will function as an influencer, collaborator, and coach to allow State Street to be successful in becoming an employer of choice amongst the best talent in the market. The ideal candidate is expected to develop numerous relationships, including with senior leadership in region, professional organizations, IDE think-tanks, and other internal and external stakeholders.


GIDE Business Consultant Responsibilities


  • Assess business unit IDE needs and equity gaps. Develop dashboards, insights, and analysis from qualitative and quantitative IDE data.
  • Assist with culture assessments and provides ID&E playbook guidance as needed
  • Ensure that business strategy fits into the organization’s overall business IDE strategy
  • Ensure business units are tracking towards accomplishment of IDE goals
  • Work directly with business unit executive leadership team to develop and implement IDE strategies that leverage programs that promote State Street’s strategic goals of being a destination for top talent with a diverse workforce and inclusive culture
  • Provide consultation, guidance, & support to business units regarding IDE programs and practices globally
  • Design consulting approach in collaboration with other areas within IDE to deliver best-in class programs to include leveraging employee networks and diversity councils
  • Serve as advisor and resource for business units and external partners in IDE

GIDE APAC Lead Responsibilities


  • Working with senior management, internal and external stakeholders to oversee all activities related to ensuring GIDE programs and solutions are evolving in the region
  • Work across GIDE team to provide oversight and delivery of all GIDE initiatives throughout APAC, including consulting, partnerships, reporting and management
  • Provide support and strategic guidance to the APAC senior leaders in Sydney, Australia; Beijing, China; Hangzhou, China; Hong Kong; India; Tokyo and Fukuoka, Japan; Singapore; Seoul, South Korea; Taipei, Taiwan
  • In Partnership with the GIDE Managing Director, manage the APAC GIDE annual budget, which includes monitoring regional activity and ensuring that budget is efficiently allocated
  • Serve as the IDE subject matter expert on any regulatory issues or directives
  • Implement, oversee, and report regional Diversity Goals
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to raise awareness of State Street’s GIDE activities within the region
  • Deliver frequent GIDE updates to divisional headquarters, regional senior management, and APAC Offices
  • Represent State Street at industry forums and other events to enhance awareness of our IDE strategy

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Minimum (8– 15+) years of experience in IDE consulting, program management, and or program development
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Understand IDE knowledge, skills, concepts, strategies, and nuances
    • Develop strong business relationships with colleagues, employees and clients
    • Challenge and influence peers
    • Communicate and interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders
    • Synthesize, analyze and interpret data, and communicate relevant insights in a manner that resonates with stakeholders
    • Effectively organize and manage projects to meet outcomes and goals
    • Speak knowledgeably about State Street
    • Multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
    • Use Microsoft Offices suite
  • Multiple language skills are encouraged
