Job Summary:
At Global Technology Center (GTC), Bengaluru, we are looking for motivated, experienced individuals who can be part of the GTC GIS team. The role – Geospatial Analyst (GIS QA and Data Manager), is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right person to gain experience in GIS analysis and implementing GIS solutions across multiple disciplines and through all parts of a project’s life cycle. Project managing candidate responsible for GIS analysis projects across engineering disciplines.
The GIS QA and Data Manager responsible for the GIS data and systems that are used by the various end users and teams across the project. An important function is the checking processing and sharing of large volumes of GIS data received from third party organisations. The GIS QA/QC and Data Management Specialist will develop and administer systems and processes for handling these GIS datasets. The work includes automated QA/QC processing, data management and progress/quality reporting. They will also input into the development of GIS Information Management procedures, data specifications and standards for the project.

Education:
- 4-year degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or related curriculum (or equivalent).
Technical:
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience. Out of which minimum 5 years of experience in delivering successful projects.
Essential:
- Expert FME Flow/Server skills
- Expert FME Form/Desktop skills
- Proficient Esri ArcGIS Pro user
- Intermediate database (RDBMS) development and administration skills
- Good understanding and experience of Information Management protocol and standards
- Good understanding and experience of GIS data management processes and automation
- Good understanding and experience of design and development processes, including requirements definition, solution design and specification
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills and a working knowledge of industry practices.
- Experience managing and editing large GIS datasets, creating standardized GIS data layers, knowledge and use of GIS automation tools, FME workspaces for data transfer and quality control.
- Exposure to Quality Standards, e.g.: PAS 1192. etc, Global Best Practices
- Have appreciation of the issues of, and solutions to, managing remote clients.
- Proven experience of delivering to deadlines within pressurised environments.
- Ability to effectively sell the benefits of GIS to potential clients.
- Ability to prepare technical documents, methodology writing and effort estimations.
- Excellent presentation skills and Enthusiastic about the benefits that GIS can provide.
- Prepared to work overseas on secondment on need basis.
- Providing GIS support within a range of projects.
- Introducing innovation and spatial solutions to projects.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and industry experience in a GIS discipline.
- Practical experience in editing and digitising GIS data.
- Ability to provide thought leadership, critical thinking, appreciative enquiry.
- Relevant ArcGIS / ArcPro experience with use of extension software such as spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, network Analyst, data interoperability.
- Exposure to BIM concepts, Spatial CDE Common Data Environment and Enterprise GIS.
- Design, production and revision of cartographic outputs.
- Hands on experience of using CAD derived data within a GIS environment.
- Creation, maintenance and management of spatial data.
- Analysing, interpreting and presenting geospatial data.
- Experience with working and controlling many evolving datasets.
- Strong FME skills, ability to design and implement workbenches to automate analysis routines, convert CAD data.
- Very good working knowledge of using ArcGIS Online applications (AGOL).
- Working experience in survey support – Survey123, ArcGIS Collector.
- Extensive knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop tools / ArcPro tools to apply on different GIS tasks.
- Knowledge GIS Map production and knowledge of survey standards and symbols for a standard representation in different GIS Maps.
- Able to perform QC/QA of the GIS tasks and thorough knowledge of the mapping and survey standards.
- Should have experience working with different clients (External / Internal).
- Should be able to manage assigned tasks with limited guidance and by maintaining a very high-quality standard.
- Good knowledge of Autodesk Studio, MicroStation V8i / Connect, Bentley Products, Revit, C3D, Infraworks, City Engine, Microsoft Access and Excel.
Desirable:
In addition, the following skills and competencies are desired:
- Experience working with CAD/BIM data (Revit, Auto CAD, ICE, COBie) translation to GIS.
- Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Portal/ArcGIS Online.
- Proficiency in GIS software applications and programming such as python and SQL.
- Ability to design and maintain GIS databases and other database formats such as Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proficiency in map coordinate systems, projections, and map scales.
- Systems and peripheral troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to independently assess data anomalies, software problems, and program design flaws, and take appropriate steps to make the project work.
- Ability to ascertain hardware/software limitations, how to work within them, and what can be done when limits are reached.
- Ability to communicate results of assigned tasks in writing.
- Ability to document work performed on a project in project logs.
Collaborative:
- Proactively engage with teams, and demonstrable technical experience, collaborative working.
- Experience of working in a multinational consultancy.
Financial:
- Working to set budgets and timescales. Able to assess results and draw conclusions/make recommendations.
