Role description: 



These pivotal roles will lead the Resilience OR Mobility Global Excellence Centre (GEC), achieving significant growth that is an integral part of the global strategy.  It requires both strong leadership and influencing skills to realize the potential growth committed in our strategy.   



The two positions will drive the expected demand within the Global Business Areas (GBAs) but also determine and deliver the required capability, and capacity required within the GEC.  In addition, a critical element of the role will be to ensure strong quality and service delivery across all projects.   



This role is part of the GEC Leadership Team, and Mobility OR Resilience Executive Team working alongside Business Area Directors and Country Operations Directors across the GBA   



Role accountabilities: 




  • Influence at GBA and country leadership across the global business to drive standard adoption, good work variety and meet client needs and expectations.    

  • Lead the development of the GEC to meet the future demands of the GBA in line with the global strategy  

  • Delivery of Service delivery Standardization and Automation expectations, and support upskilling of key service experts towards appointing individuals within GEC  

  • Leading a team of professionals within GEC to deliver excellent client and business outcomes while also retaining talent and creating great careers for those in GEC  

  • Ensure a growth focused strategy is developed and implemented in line with the global Arcadis strategy aligning the GEC as a key lever in meeting global ambitions  

  • Building the future capability needs of the GEC to support the demand of the GBA  

  • A growth mindset, able to demonstrate client facing skills and needs  

Qualifications & Experience: 


  • Significant professional experience (15 years or more), including at least 5 years’ experience leading large teams with commercial accountability  

  • Extensive experience in leading large businesses accounting of revenues of EUR50m+ and leadership of 500+ people  

  • Thorough understanding of Arcadis global business and established networks within the business  

  • Professional service delivery experience in one of the services Arcadis offers  

  • Excellent influencing and collaboration skills at a strategic level  

  • Strategic mindset, collating information across the business and developing opportunities for the wider business from them  

  • Ability to coach and bring out the best in your teams  

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to draw a following  

  • Culturally aware, with track record of global leadership  

  • Experience leading a P&L  

  • Driven to achieve outcomes – taking ownership of challenges and working to resolve in a collaborative way  

  • Ability to see from others perspectives  

  • This role will require travel internationally to meet with key stakeholders, and attend executive meetings and workshops across all GEC locations.
