About this roleJob Purpose / BackgroundThe Investment Accounting Group (IAG) provides accounting and regulatory data services to clients who have outsourced their accounting function to BlackRock. IAG is currently embarked on an exciting program of work to develop our accounting operating platform and to extend asset class coverage.We are seeking an Associate to become part of a team that will embrace your skills, eagerness, and passion while giving you the freedom to grow professionally. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outsourced financial accounting services to companies who are clients of BlackRock Solutions.Role Responsibilities:Management of Client Relationships from accounting perspectiveBuild relationships and be an excellent partner through regular communication with key personnel at each client to effectively lead client expectationsMeet with senior partners to discuss overall relationship, new initiatives, accounting questions and concerns, client relationship targets, etc.Conduct regular business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with the service offering and acquire feedbackPrepare for and host regular client meetings/relationship reviews; ensure each meeting is detailed and follow-up items addressedDevelop action plans to address and advance feedback provided by the clientDevelop strong understanding of assigned clients – including portfolio structure, objectives, and accounting requirementsAssist clients in various ad-hoc analyses and provide input relating to the treatment and impact of accounting pronouncements and reporting requirementsProvide clear concise feedback to client requestsServe as a liaison between the client and the various BlackRock teams assigned to support the client to ensure excellent client service and client satisfactionDistribute accounting updates, service model improvements, and industry thought leadership topics to clientsExperience Required:The successful candidate will have experience and proven understanding as it relates to various investment types, accounting and financial reporting across multiple accounting basis (GAAP, STAT, IFRS, French GAAP etc.) along with a strong client service focus.BS degree in Finance or Accounting; or related experience4+ years of financial/accounting work experience preferredKnowledge of insurance and disclosure reportingUnderstanding of investments such as fixed income, derivatives, alternatives, mortgage loans, equities, etc.Familiarity with GAAP/STAT/IFRS financial documents and accounting policies for investmentsEffective communication skills to deal directly with clients and across all levels of staff and managementAbility to prioritize assignments without losing sight of overall objectives and deadlines and time management skillsStrong decision-making skills to make well thought out decisions based on information providedStrong attention to detail and project management skillsAbility to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environmentSolid understanding of Microsoft office productsTravel to clients as neededOur benefitsTo help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.Our hybrid work modelBlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all.
