Purpose of your role
The objective of this role is to be a key HR business partner and front end the range of HR Generalist activities
in India. This would include focus on Employee Relations, Performance Management, employee engagement,
career pathing, Reward and Recognition plans amongst other areas. In addition, the role includes managing org
level priorities such as HR foundations, You Voice, onboarding, ER and MIS. The individual in this role will work
closely with other HR teams such as Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, HR Shared Services, HRIS,
Talent Management etc as well as other HRBPs to ensure that the needs of the business get fed back into the
overall HR planning and strategy. Individual in this role should have the ability to understand and manage
change and complex business issues, and to translate customer needs into actionable recommendations.
Participate in global, regional or India wide HR projects or initiatives as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Enable engagement
• Ensure that the HR knows the “pulse of the people”. Be able to feed this information back to the business
and broader HR and functional teams for any initiatives that may need to be carried out
• Coach managers to manage performance on an ongoing basis and to have honest, open performance
conversations with a focus on constructive and transparent communication between employee and
manager; Drive the improvement plans for the low performers
• Ensure that employees are engaged with and participate in a range of enterprise wide development and
engagement activities where required; liase with India communications team as required
• Ensure that the HR Technology infrastructure (HR Hub, Cornerstone, Workday, Amber, Ask HR, Service Now,
Your Voice tool etc.) are leveraged better by employees and managers to find answers for questions relating
to various policies and practices.
Drive org wide people initiatives:
• Work with the HR Shared Services team to ensure that changes are made accurately on the HR database
system and various HR reports in a timely manner
• Actively contribute to global HR priorities aimed at getting brilliant at basics - for example HR Foundations
projects like Job catalogue and grading, Workday foundations etc.
• Manage exit process (clearances to be provided through workday; exit interview support as applicable) and
Provide payroll inputs in a timely manner
ER tracking:
• Be the custodian of all ER cases and status; provide updates to management team(s) and HRBPs as required.
• Coach and build capability of managers to handle situations with skill rather than managing the issues for
them
• Support the resolution of employee relations matters e.g. Involuntary termination, Redundancy,
Performance Improvement Plan, Disciplinary Meeting etc
• In conjunction with HR Legal, review existing policies and procedures, and make recommendations on
continuing, modifying or eliminating policies and procedures that are not supporting business goals
(reviewing and updating employee handbook)
• Spot trends in the ER cases and work on the interventions to effective deal with the issues in the effective
and timely manner.
Your Voice Survey: Driving and lead the Your Voice engagement survey for India / function .
People Advisor to Business & Performance Management
• Work closely with identified business leaders to understand business and talent pressures and support the
delivery of people related goals and objectives
• Work with managers to understand motivation and retention issues for top talent, developing and
implementing interventions where issues are identified
• Coach and advise managers in the optimization of current team design to improve performance
• Works with the C&B teams on the market reviews of compensation and work with the business to ensure
an efficient management of the year end compensation review process is conducted
• Advise and support business managers in relation to their recommendations, maintaining objectivity and
ensuring accuracy of data throughout process. Advising in communicating key steps of the process and
updates to the management teams
• Work with managers to ensure regular talent discussions take place as part of management meetings, and
development plans are in place targeting high potential employees and for talent pipeline
• Partner with managers to implement talent development, deployment and career management process
HR Reports and Projects
• Provides HR insights and solutions in close communication with global HR and regional HR teams, and
ensure HR advices and services are consistent with business goals and directions
• Enable further development of reporting and analytics capabilities that leads to self-service culture where
HRBPs and managers seek the information on their own.
Experience and Qualifications Required
• Post Graduate with 12+ Years of work experience
• An individual with the highest level of personal authority and integrity.
• Can demonstrate a flexibility of thinking, ability to analyse and distil complex information quickly.
• Ability to influence, facilitate and foster meaningful conversation with senior leaders in organisation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong presence and the ability to adopt a
commercially driven but versatile and culturally-sensitive approach to enable him/her to impact across
all levels and functional, national and cultural boundaries.
• Equally comfortable dealing with long term strategic issues as with detailed, complex operational issues.
• A natural self-starter with the appetite for the considerable workload, intensity and challenges
presented by regional growth and the developing business.
• A team player, who will be able to work within the overall culture and fit with its entrepreneurial but
collaborative style.
