Job Description

Acumen Academy is looking for a Senior Associate with at least 6 years of experience to support the development of offerings to our community of changemakers with partnerships and opportunities. This role is remote, but preferred location is Bangalore or Mumbai.

About the Role: We're searching for someone to support our community initiatives. At Acumen, we believe that when social innovators come together in a community based on trust and shared goals, they can achieve systemic change. Our goal is to create a community where social - innovators can:


  • Get to know each other and help each other out.
  • Partner with ecosystem organizations for increasing capital and organizational support for the social-innovators.
  • Understand what the community needs by collecting and analyzing information through large data-sets.
  • Make it easy for community members to connect with each other by providing the right tools and resources.

Ultimately, we want to make a big impact by bringing social-innovators together and supporting their efforts to create positive change.

The detailed Job Description for the Senior Associate, Foundry and Partnerships: 


The Senior Associate, Foundry and Partnerships will be responsible for building and managing the relationships and infrastructure with external ecosystem partners to increase the engagement and impact of the 300+ Foundry Members). We want organizations in the Foundry to create systemic impact and you will build the partnerships with organisations and platforms that will enable these.


Key accountabilities include:


Design and co-execute community programs: Work closely with the Manager of Foundry to develop programs, workshops and convenings addressing different needs of the community. We aim to engage 50-60% of our community through these spaces where social-innovators find support for themselves or their organisations. 


Unlock Insights from Foundry needs: Continuously collect qualitative and quantitative data from the Foundry and analyse trends for various segments of the Foundry, Plan strategic interventions that will support Foundry members take their organisations to scale impact.  


Establish and manage partnerships: Work closely with existing partners and build new partners to curate and circulate opportunities towards programs, funding, and awards that unlock opportunities for our Foundry members.


Connect with and support the Foundry members:  In partnership with the team, establish and manage a process to regularly check-in with members of the Foundry deep-diving into their interventions and long-term goals along with understanding their challenges. It is expected to connect with 300+ social innovators in a year to do this. Establishing an open tool/platform that provides access to relevant opportunities for a community of social innovators will be essential. This tool should envision to support and accompany 100+ social innovators in the pilot stage, ensuring they have the resources and connections needed to thrive.


Support on Recruitment and Fellowship: As we are a small team, everyone contributes a part of their time to other verticals, and you will be expected to support other projects in the team.


Qualifications & Skills:


  • 6+ years of experience building and leading partnerships with funders, corporates, investors, social organizations etc.
  • Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Track record of planning and executing programs while monitoring impact
  • Analytical mindset to understand data, insights and impact
  • Creative and strategic thinking to develop innovative community programs
  • Communication skills to work with global, cross-cultural colleagues, partners and community members
  • Willingness to take risks and ability to address complex issues creatively and effectively
  • Effectively collaborates with and across teams, seeks, and provides constructive feedback
  • Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen values

This role reports to the Associate Director of Acumen Academy in India and will collaborate closely with colleagues across Acumen.
