Job Description

The JP Morgan Financial Reporting Team delivers a range of services to institutional asset managers for their varied product offerings like Mutual funds, Hedge Funds and superannuation funds. This Financial Reporting team takes direct responsibility for the production and delivery of Financial Statements of Accounts and related accounting/portfolio information. This role involves participation in the production of both statutory and regulatory reports.


  Experience

Candidate to have 10 years or more experience in a fund accounting/ Financial Reporting environment and will have experience in financial statement preparation Should have managed a team of 15+ people/ should be a CA /MBA (Finance).


Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Rendering accurate and timely accounting statements in compliance with customer expectations and departmental standards.
  • Reviewing and controlling of the daily operation, ensuring adherence to procedures and controls 
  • Expected to be hands on while overseeing the production of the Fund's quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports to partners that are filed with the regulators along with be-spoke client & regulatory reporting
  • Act as the primary contact for inquiries from partner sites / clients  requests and ad hoc projects on financial reporting issues
  • Review of primary financial statements in accordance with accounting and regulatory disclosure requirements within agreed deadlines.
  • Review of regulatory and other reports as required
  • Review of Financial Statements and related accounting/portfolio information
  • Ongoing analysis of client accounting records and escalation, where appropriate, of any potential issues identified
  • Assisting in developing and adjusting department procedures, systems enhancements and achieving department’s efficiency goals apart from maintain and tracking  SLA’s/KPI and provide updates in Governance calls
  • Interaction with stakeholders to respond to any accounting or financial reporting-related queries that may arise.
  • Recognise and act on opportunities to improve processes including developing and making recommendations for change and encourage the team to come with ideas for effeciency
  • To ensure all the Risk and Control checks are in place. Liaise with OCM team in case of issue.
  • To ensure that team is working in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures and escalate to supervisors of any deviations.
  • To Coach, develop and mentor staff including formal objective setting, performance reviews and providing ongoing and regular feedback.
  • To work with local and global management team as and when required.

Key Skills and Knowledge


  • Preferably qualified Chartered Accountant / MBA finance having at least 10 years of experience in Financial Services industry / (financial reporting activities / Fund accounting/ Audit ) in a service delivery model
  • Strong technical understanding of the investment industry including an overview of various regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and staff development skills with prior team management experience.
  • Flexible & willing to work additional hours at peak reporting times if necessary and inculcating the same in the team.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships both internally and with external stakeholders
