Description for Internal Candidates      


The Global Real Estate (GRE) Finance team sits within the Chief Administrative Office Finance team. It is comprised of finance professionals across the globe who are accountable for managing both the expense & capital components of the GRE function, ensuring a sound control environment, measuring performance, providing value-adding analyses, and presenting information and ideas to senior management within Global Real Estate, to the major lines of business, and to the various Firm-wide finance teams who roll up the results of the entire Corporation.


Job Summary


As a Financial Analysis, Associate within GRE Finance team, you will be part of the team of experienced professionals overseeing location strategy financial analysis, capital project plans, LOB allocations, site-level expense forecasts, and firmwide headcount location plans. 


The team covers all aspects of the Firm’s real estate portfolio including, but not limited to, space management, property management, lease administration, design & construction, and sustainability projects. This role offers high visibility across GRE and exposure to the Chief Financial Officer of the business, as well as the opportunity to work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders and senior business leads.


Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial modelling, controls, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards), and advising the line of business CFOs on how to increase profitability and efficiencies.


Job Responsibilities


  • Prepare financial forecast/budget for JPMC real estate portfolio (leased/owned property)
  • Partner with Real Estate functions (e.g. Design & Construction, Property Management, Transactions, Regional Strategy, Incentives Group) to ensure accuracy of financial forecasts/ budgets.
  • Analyze variances, trends, risks and opportunities, performance against budget/forecast/targets, key business drivers and sensitivities
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis in support of key functional areas of the business and opportunities to scale efficiencies
  • Own and understand all facets of the GRE P&L and balance sheet including current year budget and actuals reporting as well as coordination of GRE’s 5 year capital & expense budget/forecast models
  • Perform thoughtful due diligence and underwriting of real estate transactions and ensure compliance to US GAAP and JPMC accounting policies (incl. balance sheet, income statement, cash view)

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance or business related discipline
  • 3+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background
  • Experience with financial modelling and forecasting; strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to analyse large data sets and present conclusions concisely
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets
  • Ability to think outside of the box, identify problems & find cost efficient solutions
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment and prioritize projects accordingly
  • Communication skills - Ability to communicate succinctly and efficiently, comfortable interacting with senior business/Corporate leaders
  • Organizational ability - Ability to handle numerous deliverables simultaneously, many with critical deadlines. Candidate must be comfortable with frequently changing priorities

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Prior work experience in Real Estate finance would be an advantage
  • Experience with financial systems (EssBase, SAP)
  • Knowledge in Alteryx and tableau would be an advantage
