As a Financial Controller Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm. You will be responsible for financial and operational accounting activities, internal controls, and financial reporting for the Corporate LOBs (ex T/CIO and Private Equity), as well as centrally managed Firmwide accounting activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze source data and prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet and Profit & Loss accounts.
- Perform General Ledger reconciliation and substantiation.
- Report on inter-entity control and governance.
- Conduct manual accounting and entry bookings to the General Ledger and operating systems during the month-end close process.
- Manage regulatory reporting and audits.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to meet deadlines and maintain oversight of financials.
- Update the ledger accurately and ensure alignment with the sub-ledger/source data.
- Verify the accuracy and validity of line of business general ledger accounts, ensuring adherence to Firmwide General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation (GLRS) standards.
- Adhere to profit & loss and Balance Sheet controls owned by Financial Control, identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiency.
- Analyze, communicate, and resolve material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems, as defined by the line of business.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- CA/CFA/MBA Finance/master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 5+ years of related experience with financial reporting, General Ledger and month end close responsibilities.
- Comfortable liaising with business and risk managers and able to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues.
- Able to build and maintain partnerships within the various product aligned businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groups.
- Able to understand business drivers and requirements and influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problems.

- Strong analytical skills - Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies. Able to multi-task in a constantly changing environment.
