Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s in commerce or business administration or a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting 
  • Experience of 10+ years with 3+ years in leading a team of 10+ members in a multinational shared services environment must have US payroll experience 
  • Payroll transformation experience required – including new system testing experience, pay comparison, parallel runs, ensuring data accuracy and archival and integrity 
  • SAP payroll platform experience is a must, US Lawson payroll experience will be added advantage for the payroll transformation program 
  • Exposer to managing global clients 
  • Experience in global payroll function including balance sheet reconciliations and other accounting activities 
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver 
  • Strong knowledge on payroll processing and accounting concepts  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Ability to deal with concepts and ambiguity 
  • Ability to use logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solution 
  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Experience with Global payroll process 


WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be based in our Gurugram/Chennai office as part of our Global Payroll team in coordination with office accounting, firm colleagues and applications support team. 
WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will be responsible for a variety of activities related to end-to-end payroll processing, supervising the team to ensure timely processing, audit and closing of in-house payroll for US and Canada.  
In this role, you will be largely supporting payroll transformation - SAP payroll platform implementation for an in-house payroll for US and Canada including working guiding through configuration, testing, and roll-out phases. The second part of the role will be regular payroll operation and keeping the accountability for achieving operational targets & key performance indicators (KPI) by adhering to compliance with policies and procedures, operational excellence, etc. You will regularly analyze the process, identify improvement areas, and recommend new ideas to improve the overall process and thereby improving the customer satisfaction. You will be an effective team player and work along with other teams to achieve the common goals of the firm.
You will be partnering with functional leadership to identify issues, gather necessary information, use the right information for solving problems, and come up with practical solutions. You will be responsible for assessing the team members’ performance objectively, identifying the training needs, and organizing appropriate training to people. You will regularly provide constructive feedback to members on their performances. Additionally, you will resolve conflicts between team members effectively and efficiently.
You will facilitate and impart functional training for team members, ensure policy changes, business process documentations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are updated regularly. You will communicate, enforce, and ensure complete adherence to firm’s policies and guidelines from the members.
