  • The Operational Resilience Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s operational resilience framework.
  • This role ensures that the business can effectively respond to and recover from disruptions, maintaining critical operations and services.

Your key responsibilities


  • Support the FIC lead for Operation Resilience and execution of framework and associated requirements working closely with the FIC businesses, Infrastructure functions and their assigned leads.
  • Identify the Important Business Services for the Division, determine Impact tolerance (period of time to reach intolerable harm) for each of these services and co-ordinate / participate in scenario testing.
  • Conduct workshops with various stakeholders front-to-back (Business, NFRM, Operations, Compliance, Regulatory adherence teams, etc) to perform regular risk assessments, identify potential threats to operational resilience and develop playbooks and mitigation plans.
  • Support development of governance and associated tracking of KPIs, potential risks and issues regarding Operational Resilience.
  • Design and implement strategies to enhance the business’ ability to withstand and recover from operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to identify, develop, maintain, and test continuity plans and ensure critical operations can continue during and after a disruption.
  • Lead review of response and Lessons Learnt relating to operational incidents, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure effective updates are made to resolution and recovery infrastructure.
  • Collate and analyse contextual data provided by NFRM (internal events/ external events) to review any changes in the risk profile from operational resilience perspective, and in support of Op Res workshops and key artifacts.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the status of operational resilience to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure preparation of robust documentation for the operational resilience framework laid down for all the services identified in the business.

Your skills and experience


  • 10+ years work experience in banking domain with Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and frameworks, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational risks.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, supporting analysis, and the proactive tracking of actions and inputs across various functions front to back.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to enhance operational resilience or similar frameworks.
  • Ability to lead on co-ordination and execution key deliverables across multiple business/business managers and functions, dealing with multiple stakeholders or varying levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to formulate clearly and present information in a compelling manner.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans for enhancing operational resilience. Also, skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring of resilience initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Banking Infrastructure, Operations as well as Front Office processes and services (including Trade lifecycle) would be an added advantage, good knowledge of at least one is a requirement.
  • Skills in oversight and review of incidents, including crisis management and recovery strategies (or similar frameworks).
  • Ability and experience of driving and extending operational frameworks for new scope and drive impact / scenario assessment outputs, would be an advantage.
  • Ability to co-ordinate, produce and track required documentation.
