Department


You will be part of Manufacturing Operation-India, Global Supply Chain, Cement who supports Capital and Service Product line for Materials, Warehouse & Logistics. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and different challenges. This department works closely with both our internal and external customers to ensure FLSmidth cement equipment’s on time delivery and customer satisfaction. You will be located in the Arakkonam plant.


Role


As Expediting Manager- Procurement, you will be responsible for managing supplier to support full scope of Sourcing and procurement processes by providing the best conditions in terms of quality, price, delivery terms, technology, and sustainability in accordance with guidelines and all in compliance with local as well as group regulations and procedures.


Your Responsibilities


  • Ensure Purchase Order Acknowledgement from the supplier and update in the system.
  • Follow-up with suppliers to get manufacturing schedules and progress report on time.
  • Follow-up with suppliers for the status report and clarifying their queries.
  • Scrutinizing the details provided by the suppliers through documents and physical verification and ensuring the work progress on timely manner.
  • Read and understand FLS PO and Drawings.
  • Update & circulate the PO wise status report in regular frequency.
  • Coordinating with QC, Logistics and Project Management Team for arranging Inspection, vehicles and Dispatch Instruction on time.
  • Improves on time delivery by creating a good networking and influencing with suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Should work on achieving the department goals and the individual KPI.
  • Foresee and anticipate the progress and alert the stakeholders on time if there is a deviation.
  • Arranging the dispatches from suppliers Ontime.
  • Ensure the closure of all Purchase order line items closure and report on time.

Key Accountabilities


•Reports solid line to Manufacturing Procurement.
•Ensures execution of expediting activities to comply with business unit specific requirements for cost, time, quality and risk minimization
•Manages and develops the expediting team and ensures collaboration and alignment with purchasing and logistics
•Drives efficiency through resource optimization, offshoring and implementation of best practice within expediting across all business units in the region
•Engages in the implementation of and compliance to procurement policies, processes and reporting of KPI’s in alignment with group directives and leads specifically for expediting
•Ensures engagement in global initiatives as well as local activities with regards to supplier development in alignment with group Procurement


What you bring


  • Knowledge of Procurement practices and procedures in Expediting & procurement in (Manufacturing - Batch Production)
  • Should be self-driven, go-getter & a live wire when it comes to follow up and timely completion.
  • Experience in Heavy Fabrication & Machining, Casting, Forging, Knowledge in Bought outs and E&I.
  • Excellent skill in both verbal and written communication.
  • Proactive approach, good planning and organizing skills.
  • Expert in MSOffice including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge in Cement equipment.
  • Technical knowledge, familiar with all standards, drawing reading, planning and organizing skills.

Education Qualification


Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.

10-15 years’ experience in Procurement
