This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week. ABOUT THE TEAM The Quality Assurance team at Parametric: - We work among agile development/delivery teams to test and deliver custom software used by Parametric business users and customers. - We are integral to ensuring software and system quality through understanding business requirements, test planning, test automation, test execution and acceptance testing. - We strive to increase the velocity of software delivery while reducing risk and adhering to control requirements - we help teams go fast safely. ABOUT THE ROLE The Director, QA Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of QA professionals to design, build and support Test Automation efforts at Parametric, ensuring quality in delivering enhancements to proprietary Parametric software. You'll work closely with QA, SDETs and Developers to establish test automation solutions which are maintainable, extensible, and follow industry best practices, while partnering with Platform Engineering to integrate test suites with the CI/CD pipelines as part of the delivery flow. You'll also collaborate with other technology teams in the organization as necessary, including Infrastructure, InfoSec and Release Management to meet operational and control requirements. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Direct a growing team of Test Automation professionals by providing strategic direction, as well training on tools and practices, for our client engagement portals and distributed enterprise solutions - Provide thought and practice leadership to help transform QA practice to be highly automated and systematic, enabling increased velocity of software delivery, risk reduction and strict adherence to SDLC policy controls - Coach and mentor Test Automation team leads and staff to support professional development, engagement, and organizational goals - Continuously improve Parametric's approach and platform for testing to cover functional, regression, end-to-end, performance/load, A/B deployments, and more - Work with Quality Engineering leadership team and stakeholders to set priority and capacity expectations to balance resource allocation needs - Track and present metrics for Test Automation to include overall coverage, in-sprint automation progress, and defect density - Engage in a highly collaborative team environment including business partners and product owners to align testing goals with overall business objectives/key results - Work with solution managers and software development leads to integrate quality engineering as early as possible into the product lifecycle
