Job Summary:
As a Commercial Investment Banking Custody Operations Director, Head of Europe Middle East Africa Trades Operations, the candidate will be responsible for the operational framework of the end to end trade lifecyle for trades booked in the Europe Middle East Africa markets
Job Responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibilities for the trade capture, pre-matching & settlements teams
- Manage the budget for the team and ensure all productivity targets are met in a timely manner
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of issues with senior management
- Independently monitor Key Risk parameters for the team throughout the day
- Partner with various internal teams such as Client service, Client facing, Product management, cash processing, account opening and asset servicing to process transactions and resolve any exceptions on a timely manner.
- Ensure timely delivery on team objectives and business results
- Partner with technology, product management, product development and senior partners to work through strategic program delivery
- Identify and remediate risk and control gaps
- Partner with client service teams to help change client behavior where required to remove manual processes.
- Oversight of the team charters, action plan remediations and making sure the team is always audit ready
- Represent the trades organization in senior leadership forums and be the point of contact for any strategic decisions, location strategy, internal and external audits etc.
- Follow JPMorgan's established processes and procedures; Look to modify / iterate processes and procedures to continually improve accuracy, reduce redundancy, and mitigate risk
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 15 – 20 years in Financial Services industry, preferably in custody & fund services, markets or prime brokerage space
- Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Visio and Outlook Express (or similar email program)
- Excellent prior custody & fund services, executing broker or prime brokerage operational experience
- Ability to work closely with business partners and interact with all staff levels
- Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate strategic messages clearly and consistently with the team, making linkages to individual goals and accomplishments
- Leadership / Teamwork: Builds effective teams committed to organizational goals; fosters collaboration among team members and among teams

- Strong financial markets product knowledge and understanding of the transaction / trade lifecycle in Custody and/or Subject matter expertise in Equities, Fixed Income.
