As the Ethics & Compliance Manager, India, you’ll be part of our Legal team, reporting directly to the Ethics & Compliance Director, Eastern Europe/CIS, India, Middle East, and Africa, and responsible for the Ethics and Compliance programs for our offices and manufacturing plants in India and other countries in South Asia. The position has a flexible location including all metropolitan locations in India.
You’ll get to:
• Provide expertise, advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on a broad range of topics including ethics, anti-bribery, confidentiality, conflicts of interest and other related areas.
• Develop and deliver informative and engaging training and communications to employees in India and other countries in South Asia on compliance matters, including program enhancements, new policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement a local compliance communication plan to help keep compliance top of mind.
• Develop and implement compliance protocols and processes for third parties.
• Collaborate and work closely with legal, finance, HR, business teams, managers and other control functions to embed compliance culture and practices in daily operations and activities within the India and other countries in South Asia.
• Assist with internal investigations into alleged violations of the Code of Business Ethics or other policies.
• Perform periodic risk assessments in India on regulatory and legal matters including development and oversight of implementation of any control enhancements or remediation.
• Lead processes that ensure ongoing and sustained effectiveness of key and common controls and risk-driven reviews in response to compliance investigations, business and/or regulatory changes.
• Own the process for logging, tracking and trending all potential and actual control gaps, root causes and program response processes.
• Own the testing and monitoring strategy for the enterprise compliance program
• Identify and recommend commercial and pragmatic solutions and control improvements to identified risks and issues.
• Develop strong partnerships and networks with internal subject matter experts to perform control assurance activities.
• Work closely with the Business Operational Risk teams to ensure control assurance activities are tailored to business risks, and findings are communicated and transparent to stakeholders.
• Contribute to refinement of the control assurance framework, identifying opportunities for improvement to achieve better risk and business outcomes.
Education and Experience:
• University degree holder. Although not required, relevant fields such as Law, compliance, business, and/or Internal Audit a plus.
• At least 6 years of experience in compliance and compliance-related fields.
• Program management and strategic planning skills, training and/or experience.
Additional Qualifications:
• English and Hindi language capability. Other languages a plus.
• In depth knowledge of relevant country laws such as Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA)
• Experience implementing and monitoring a regional compliance program for a multinational publicly-traded company.
• Demonstrated ability to create and conduct engaging and effective live training presentations.
• Substantive expertise in Anti-Corruption, Data Privacy, U.S. sanctions and embargoes as well as other applicable trade sanctions laws, Antitrust, Import/Export Controls.
• Experience leading and conducting confidential and privileged investigations into compliance-related matters.
• Strong project and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks of varied complexity, set priorities, meet deadlines, and develop process efficiencies where required.
• Excellent collaboration skills to engage with high performance teams and colleagues in different functions and levels within a diverse and global organization.
• Willing and able to travel as required once or twice per month.
