The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Controller team is a newly created function within the Finance division and is responsible for the strategic
preparation, analysis, senior governance and ultimate submission of mandatory ESG disclosures for Citigroup globally i.e. US Securities and Exchange Commis
Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive ‘CSRD’, EU Taxonomy, etc. The successful candidate in this role will be primarily responsible for the coordination and various controls and procedures for Citi ESG disclosures.
The ESG Controller function’s responsibilities will be global in scope and require working closely with the Sustainability & ESG office, Risk Management, Busine
other global functions across the organization for timely and accurate reporting of ESG disclosures, with appropriate controls and governance.
ESG Controller Senior Analyst
Responsibilities:
Participate and contribute to the various working groups with multiple stakeholders to perform in-depth analysis and review of disclosure requirements, ma
identification and remediations, planning time and resources, and attestations of various disclosures.
Execute and monitor controls and procedures for ESG disclosures in collaboration with Risk and Control functions and key ESG stakeholders, including d

Analyze and document regulatory requirements for specific quantitative ESG metrics, both owned by Finance and other functions, like, Green Asset Ratio
Emission calculations following GHG (Greenhouse Gas Emissions) Protocol and PCAF (Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials) guidelines, etc.
Calculate key quantitative metrics required for disclosure under ESG reporting regulations (e.g., EU Taxonomy, CSRD).
Identify and document requirements for data and technology solutions to deliver on the regulatory templates.
Ensure compliance with existing regulatory reporting policies, standards and procedures.
Develop subject matter expertise on ESG disclosures, keeping current on evolving disclosure trends in the industry, and assisting impact assessment of e
Create and maintain ESG reporting procedure documentation.
Coordinate with internal auditors or other external reviewers of the information within Citi’s ESG disclosures.
Coordinate with international finance and regulatory reporting teams to ensure consistency of disclosures between group and entity levels.
Qualifications:
5+ years' relevant experience which includes at least 3 years on a field related to ESG
Knowledgeable in ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, EU Taxonomy) and industry
expertise
Passion for understanding the intersection of business, society and the environment
Understanding of banking products / systems highly preferred
Good understanding of the Finance, Audit, and/or internal control functions within Financial Services organization
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
Self-motivated with work through the details with minimal guidance
Good command of spoken and written English and strong communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills
SQL and other data analytics skills preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field. CA and/or CPA preferred.
