 As a VP within the OTC Drafting team, you exhibit depth & breadth of knowledge regarding OTC Derivative Legal documentation, ISDA guidelines & lifecycle expertise. You drive programs or initiatives in partnership with partners Legal, Front office and operations and continuously improve control infrastructure to ensure risk is correctly booked in the system to meet regulatory requirements.


The focus of Confirmations team is to issue and execute OTC Legal Documents with the clients in a timely manner. The team is required to understand the fundamentals of the product and underlying instruments and business strategy and to continually improve control infrastructure to meet regulatory requirements and maintain control. 


Process involves drafting of confirmations from risk management system, to ensure legal documentation issued to clients is in line with Risk Management System. 


Job Responsibilities


  • Draft and affirm legal confirmations and understand legal aspects relating to derivatives confirmations.
  • Drive efficiency in the current process by identifying incorrect booking practices and educating the Middle Office on the impact.
  • Escalate unissued/unexecuted documents in a timely manner.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with internal lines of business, including the Middle Office, Front Office, and internal counterparts.
  • Ensure all issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner as per business standards.
  • Lead strategic automation projects.
  • Improve controls in the process and ensure 100% accuracy and compliance with regulatory rules.
  • Manage new analysis requirements across multiple stakeholders.
  • Oversee the data gathering process, analyze the data, and report MIS utilizing various data sources.
  • Produce time-sensitive daily reports with actionable data for the Front Office, Middle Office, or Back Office for break resolutions.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills


  • Graduate or post-graduate with 10+ years of experience in financial operations.
  • Demonstrate equity derivative product knowledge of structured and exotic derivatives along with strong financial proficiency in ISDA legal language.
  • Exhibit expert EDG OTC product knowledge and product lifecycle expertise.
  • Stay well-versed with industry changes, including regulatory reforms and LIBOR decommissioning.
  • Manage projects effectively.
  • Handle a high level of complexity in product coverage, shift gears with ease, be flexible in shifting workload according to changing priorities, and be comfortable in a stressful and fast-paced trading environment.
  • Understand the downstream impact of actions undertaken, particularly the requirement for strong and timely controls throughout the trade lifecycle.
  • Pay attention to details, possess strong interpersonal skills, exercise solid business judgment, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines, and prioritize one's own and the team’s work to achieve them.
  • Be flexible to work global hours and willing to travel globally, if needed.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of CFTC/EMIR/NCMR rules.
