About the position:
The Equipment Team Lead is part of the Materials, Equipment, and Quality team within Chevron’s ENGINE Center and oversees a multi-discipline team of fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment engineers. This team provides expertise on design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment across Chevron assets. This role is responsible for providing work prioritization, mentoring, coaching, career development, and Performance responsibilities for this team.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the performance of the team by establishing clear goals and expectations, measuring progress and sharing results across Chevron ENGINE and with stakeholders across the enterprise
Provides coaching, performance feedback, mentoring, career development and regularly engages team to help remove barriers for the team. Ensures and provides the team has a safe & respectful work environment
Collaborates with the Chevron Technical Center to align on requirements and priorities as well as engaging stakeholders across the business units and operating facilities and communicates work requirements and priorities to team members
Responsible for timely delivery and quality of work products, services and solutions delivered by the team
Engages in deep technical aspects of the work when needed, while also removing barriers for the team to progress work
Leads, frames and develops scope and supports executing projects/opportunities of large and complex nature under minimal supervision, which involves one or more engineering disciplines
Oversees the delivery of workflows covering mechanical rotating, mechanical fixed, and electrical equipment. Implements existing Chevron processes and systems in support of required work activities
Ensure and support continuous improvement of work process, procedures, practices, applications, data and tools are effective and efficient to meet Chevron and industry requirements. Ensure lessons learned are shared and incorporated into work practices and processes
Foster an inclusive environment both within the team and with the other functions and organization/teams in ENGINE
Develop and deliver the team's business plan and support delivery of ENGINE MEQ Chapter business plan. Ensure team works within budget and meets business plan objectives
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of demonstrated supervisory experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from a recognized (AICTE) university
Preferred Qualifications:
15+ years of relevant experience providing engineering support in mechanical or electrical design in the oil & gas industry
Extensive knowledge of all applicable industry codes related to design of mechanical fixed, mechanical rotating, or electrical equipment such as ASME, API, IEC, IEEE, ISO
Masters or Doctorate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
