Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Enterprise Products team is looking for Software Developers to join our mission to deliver leading-edge z/OS mainframe offerings. Our squads are autonomous, multi-disciplinary teams, consisting of talented software developers with in-depth knowledge of the z/OS mainframe operating system in new and existing
language standards, hardware design Our developers contribute to the open source and prioprietary Enterprise Product technologies, with proven software development skills.

As a Enterprise Product Tester, you will provide feedback on design/requirements from Quality Assurance perspective. You will :


  • Create, update and execute of existing and new regression test cases/suites.
  • Enhance, update and maintain to the existing automation frameworks to support the testing.
  • Maintain and prepare test environment.
  • support the product through maintenance activities such as responding to high severity problems and cases, performing functional and regression testing fixes. ”


Required Technical and Professional Expertise


  • 2-5 years of software development experience
  • Experience of z/OS ASM coding including MACRO language.
  • Knowledge of coding the basic ASM program elements such as: input parameters/registers,
  • addressing mode, save-area, prolog section, mainline section, epilog section, subroutines.
  • Familiarity with basic z/OS services, macros, control blocks, I/O access methods, addressing modes.
  • Experience of writing reentrant/reusable code. Knowledge of how/when to use CALL LOAD LINK XCTL ATTACH macros.
  • Basic z/OS DUMP reading using a dump analysis tool like IPCS.
  • Familiarity with basic ISPF application-level services and PANEL language.
  • Experience of software development/maintenance in a source control management system.
  • Experience with mainframe file types and Data Set types, like VSAM, PDS, PDSE.
  • Experience using ISPF/TSO, such as 3.2 and 3.4 to allocate and monitor Data Sets.
  • Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills to analyze issues and defects reported by customer-facing and test teams”


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise


  • Familiarity with basic TSO services and CLIST coding.
  • Software maintenance under SMP/E
  • Experience of utilizing a z/OS Data Space.
  • Experience of writing SMF user-exits.
  • Experience of utilizing z/OS Cross-Memory services
  • Experience of utilizing z/OS Cross-Coupling-Facility in a sysplex.
  • Familiarity with low level programming (e.g. projects involving assembler or embedded systems, taken courses such as computer architecture, operating systems, microprocessor systems…)
  • Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills to analyze issues and defects
  • reported by customer-facing and test teams
  • Self-motivated towards meeting agreed goals
  • Ability to Innovate in the areas of Product Engineering
  • Open to Cross Time Zone Collaboration
  • Ability to use conference and collaboration tools effectively”
