Job Description
Within NXP central chip engineering organization (ACE: Advanced Chip Engineering), the engineering Program Manager (ePM) is in charge of all the HW design activities of a new product development (NPI).
This covers the development of new IPs (analog & digital) and the complete SoC integration, including the verification and the validation in the depth of the V-Model (from system and application level to the IP level) targeting the product release.
The job requires:
- Excellent coordination with other NXP departments and organizations contributing to the product development: the Product Line as-well-as the SW and Industrial operation departments.
- Ability to influence the definition of the project and to defend the project interests
- High maturity skills in the profession of program management, with proven track record to deliver complex (multi dimensional and multi sites) projects with a high level of innovation and to on time for the market
- Involvement in the selection and management of new external suppliers
- Stakeholder management with Senior management up to Executive management
- Authority towards internal and external stakeholders with highly effective communication
- Balanced skill set with Technical and Financial savviness
- Determination to ensure transparency during the project execution to pro-actively manage the risks and handle the issues and the dynamic of the projects
The ePM is responsible through the life-cycle of the project, starting from the Concept phase, and manages the development and implementation process:
- Manage the project from initiation through delivery
- Forecasts and tracks the timeline and budgeting related to HW Design activities
- Tracks inter-dependencies, defect and action item closure
- Guarantees adherence to standards and processes (automotive, safety, security)
- Manages staffing of the activities in cooperation with the Line Managers
- Orchestrates the risks (project and technical) and their mitigations
- Represents the HW design activities in the cross-functional team handling the complete scope of the project (SW, Operation, Package)
- Contributes to improvement activities in the corporate forms related to the PM profession
The ePM belongs to a pool of senior and very professional Program Managers serving multiple Product Lines. As member of the corporate PM community of Practice, the ePM is expected to contribute to the development of peers and to maintain the profession at State of the Art.
