Role Definition


Engineering Manager within the Onboard Autonomy and Validation division.  As a first-line leader of a team of engineers, the incumbent is expected to provide leadership to the Hardware In the Loop (HIL) testing and electronic Virtual Proving Ground (eVPG) teams carrying out system integration, verification and validation of On-Machine and Office systems focused on CAT's Remote Control and Autonomy Solutions. The scope of work will include HIL testing of New Product Development and continuous improvement of the existing products using state of the art Simulation/VPD tools, Software In the Loop(SIL) and Hardware In the Loop (HIL) platforms. Role includes need for skills to coach, guide and facilitate the development of work group that builds a collaborative relationship among themselves, as well as with customers, suppliers, and other functional groups to ensure goals are achieved. The leader is expected to create and maintain an organizational climate / culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement / commitment, and a sense of urgency towards business success.

Degree Requirement


  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of industry experience with at least 5+ years in Electronic Firmware Development / Machine Systems Integration / Electronic Systems Validation.
  • 5 + years  in HIL Validation and Test Automation for heavy-industry, automotive, agriculture or industrial applications
  • Expert knowledge in software product development lifecycle including working & managing teams following SAFe Methodology
  • Advanced skills in program management, strategic planning, business planning and customer relations 

Desired Qualifications:


  • 6 Sigma Black belt/ Master Black belt experience
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Management
  • Domain experience in developing control systems for Autonomy, Engine, Transmission, Hydraulic, On-board / Off-board monitoring systems & Site productivity solutions
  • Product Development experience in construction& mining industries
  • 2 years’ people leadership experience. Role Definition
