Responsibilities include:
• Own the portfolio of products and components, together with the product management organization.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve products in this space.
• Deliver high customer satisfaction in this space.
• Hire, motivate, and retain high-quality talent.
Job Description
• Work closely with the lead architects to design and implement features based on best practices and best-in-class
implementations.
• Deliver high-quality software releases per roadmap for consumption by Varian’s product and program teams.
• Create resourcing and execution plans, regularly track progress against objectives, and identify and manage organizational
risks to ensure the successful accomplishment of objectives.
• Develop operational objectives and work plans that are strongly aligned with company objectives.
• Oversee the execution of multiple, concurrent software release trains through effective prioritization and resource
management.
• Define and regularly measure organizational metrics relating to engineering quality and productivity. Continuously improve
metrics by introducing and improving appropriate processes, practices, and methodologies.
• Work with Varian’s customers, product managers, and R&D teams to continuously identify opportunities for improvement
of Varian’s enterprise software architecture.
• Effectively delegate to subordinates. Guide, mentor and develop subordinates while tracking the progress of delegated
responsibilities.
• Ensure organizational compliance with Varian policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications Required:
BE, MSc, MCA, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
• 10-15 years of experience in the software industry, with proven prior experience in a software R&D team management role.
• Hands-on with Net, C#, .Net Core, Experience with WinForm / WPF, Asp .Net MVC.
• Exposure to working with Cloud-native design & development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exposure to working with global teams and stakeholders ( Architecture, Product Management, Ux, etc. )
• Strong process orientation with exposure to agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
• Excellent perseverance and influencing ability.
• Ability, competence, and confidence to lead and manage a team of mature software engineers.
Language Abilities: Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
