The position will lead the engineering function for a dynamic API manufacturing site, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and efficiency. This role involves strategic oversight of maintenance operations, process optimizations, stakeholder coordination, and team leadership, contributing to the site’s goals within a GxP-regulated environment.
Job Description:
Ensure all engineering operations adhere to stringent safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies.
Develop and execute a proactive maintenance plan to minimize downtime and increase reliability across equipment and infrastructure.
Lead initiatives to reduce utility costs, optimize resource utilization, and enhance process efficiencies.
Design and implement long-term strategies for utility cost reduction, spare parts management, maintenance costs, and operational improvements.
Oversee the ETP operations, ensuring efficient waste treatment, compliance with environmental regulations, and optimal plant performance.
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate maintenance and engineering performance.
Oversee modifications and improvement projects, ensuring cost-effective, timely completion.
Enhance procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and optimize engineering-related outsourcing, creating a sustainable supplier database.
Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including EHS, SCM, Engineering, and Production teams.
Prepare, rationalize, and manage the engineering department’s OPEX and CAPEX budgets; monitor routine expenditures to align with budgetary goals.
Recruit, train, and mentor a team of 24+ engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of motivation and high performance.
Champion the implementation of Operational Excellence initiatives within the engineering department to support continuous improvement goals.
Drive Facility Expansion projects, Implementation of Maintenance strategy programs and other initiatives for Improvement and cost reduction

Required Qualification: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Required Experience & Exposure - Exposure in Pharma (API/Formulation/FMCG/Chemical/Automation) with 15+ years of experience
