Rockwell Automation Component Engineering – Engineer II
Role: Engineer II Component Engineer
Reporting to Team Lead
Work Mode - Hybrid
Scope of Position: Sources, selects and qualifies components to be used in RA's products. Work on issues of limited scope and applies engineering
Essential duties
- Provide technical guidance regarding the selection of components to Rockwell Businesses, Quality, Sourcing and Purchasing
- Investigate alternate components to improve quality / reliability, reduce costs or to maintain operational efficiencies
- Evaluate supplier changes
- Maintain component data management system for assigned commodities
- Familiar with a broad spectrum of electronic & electrical components
- Create technology roadmaps to partners
- Help with cause failure analysis
- Be a active Team Member on Supplier Management Reviews to promote continuous improvements in quality, delivery and value. May also participate in on-site technical surveys
- Serve as Team Member on selected projects and teams
- Both and as a member of a team
Interpersonal
- Interface with customers to provide component expertise on complex matters to improve process and product quality, and decrease costs.
- Interfaces with Internal customers which includes design engineers, Quality Staff, Sourcing and Purchasing Staff
- Interface with External customers which includes suppliers, as well as end-users of RA products.
- Must have detailed technical information, both written and orally, to the customer.
- Draw upon knowledge (formal training) to or to facilitate resolution of component problems
Business
- Partner with customers and coordinates efforts to resolve problems in creative ways Ensures familiarity with company procedures. Applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Procedures include: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
EDUCATION AND Relevant REQUIREMENTS:
- B Tech / BE Engineering in Electronics, Electrical & Communication Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of related work experience in Component Engineering.
- Knowledge of electrical, electronics and electromechanical components
- Experience working with SAP or any other Database
