Position Summary:


This position will work within the DCP (Digital Commerce Platforms) group to develop and implement various enterprise initiatives and technical projects related to Fisher Scientific and Thermo Fisher Scientific ecommerce websites. The candidate will work with others on the development team to translate business requirements and technical design into well-optimized functioning code using Python and related web frameworks. The candidate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of web applications and services that interact with Product, Content, Search, and E-Commerce systems. The candidate should be able to work effectively in a team to build scalable web applications and services. This position offers an exciting career opportunity to work on systems that collaborate with multiple systems, including Content Management Systems, Product Information Management Systems, Middleware, and ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning).


Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python and related frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define and implement web solutions.
  • Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications and APIs.
  • Optimize and fine-tune web applications for performance and scalability.
  • Implement and integrate web frameworks and libraries into existing systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to gain a deep understanding of business needs and convert them into practical technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for applications and systems.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure high-quality coding standards.
  • Identify, address, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in web development and Python programming.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 0-2 years of professional experience as a Python Developer.
  • Proven understanding of the Python programming language and its libraries.
  • Hands-on experience with web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud platform for deploying web applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
