Engineer - Electrical Design

Position Summary

The position of Engineer – Electrical Design will be responsible for the design and and development of Electrical wiring harnesses for climate solution projects and is expected be competent in creating harness Design (CAD) and maintain documentation (Drawings/Windchill) require supporting electromechanical systems within the product, using Creo Schematics, Creo cabling & AutoCAD modules to develop harness design solutions within a CAD environment and adhere to internal design standards and requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

• • Design schematic and wiring diagram using Creo-Schematic as per inputs provided through markups.
  • Using Creo Cabling, develop 3D harness design routing on unit model as per requirements.
  • Complete component designation and autoroute wires using xml from Creo schematic wiring diagram.
  • Flattening of harness in 3D environment and develop parametric drawing as per CAD standards.
  • 3D modelling of Electrical component and develop drawings.
  • Prepare Engineering documentation, bill of material and change notices.
  • Complete release process on PTC Windchill PLM tool.
  • Develop control box layout designs, wire harness routing and transformer load calculations.
  • Understand and adhere to design and drafting standard practices.
  • Support Design Engineering projects independently. Collaborate with other design engineers working on those projects.
  • Work from oral or written engineering instructions, procedures, drawings, and sketches.
  • Meet Quality and delivery >95%.

Essential skills:

• • Hands on experience with Creo-Cabling and Creo Schematics, Pro-Diagram and AUTOCAD.
  • Basic in Design and development of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage control panel designs.
  • Basic in Product Level Electrical system design, Wiring & Harness Design
  • Good understanding of safety and protection standards and their implementation
  • Demonstrates strong technical capability with very good understanding of PDP.
  • Basic Knowledge in windchill PLM and Bill of Material preparation and change management systems.
  • Work experience in minor complex projects is preferable.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Skills and Education:

• • Bachelors in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical and relevant streams with consistent track record
  • 1 to 3 of Experience in Electrical wiring harness design and development.
  • Capable of working independently in one large project or couple of small projects with no supervision.
  • Self-motivated, willing to take initiative, able to function effectively in independent and team-based situations.
  • Must be adept at report writing and presenting technical information to a wide audience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required with good interpersonal skills, able to express concepts and ideas with clarity.
  • Ability to work with onsite Teams and engineers
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
