Where you fit in
Provide support to Shell’s OUs by designing/modelling through our 2D and 3D drawing management systems by editing existing drawings/Models to incorporate red lined corrections, drawings & version updates as part of Project/MoC.
What's the role
- Act as SME for Electrical and Instrumentation system modelling and Detailing in SPEL and SPI from mutiple assignments from Greenfield, brownfiels projects including MoC projects
- Primarily works on SPEL, SPI & S3D primarily along with AutoCAD
- Read & comprehend the various technical drawings of the like P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram), SLDs, Control Schematics, layout drawings, related equipment.
- Comprehensive Experience in EHT related drawings like Isometric drawings, Panel Schedule, Cable Summary, Cable Schedule, One Line Diagram, Grounding Layout, Cable Routing Layout, Plot Plan layout .
- Experience in High Voltage System, Earthing , lighting and Panels, Motors and other Electrical Drivers.
- Understand and interpret the corrections & redline mark ups done in the drawings.
- Key Electrical deliverables in SPEL or S3D include Block Diagrams, Area Classification Drawings, One-line diagrams, Typical Installation Drawings, Motor control schematics, Panel Schedules, MCT Schedules, Lighting Layout Drawings ,Cable tray drawings, Earthing layouts,Building Layouts,MCT Layouts,Tray support location Plans,Cable tray sizing calculations ,Conduit & cable schedules ,AG/UG power drawings, Interconnection & Wiring drawings
- Prepare bills of material and perform MTO of electrical items.
- Work in 3D modeling tool to perform the following Model Cable trays, Electrical Equipment, Electrical field devices, Cable tray supports / Supports for field devices, Penetrations, Cable trenches, Extract Drawings, Extract MTO, Clear Clashes / TDL
- Preparation & Checking of all 2D design deliverables in SPI and AutoCAD like Hook-up drawings, Loop Drawings, ILD wiring & ESL creations, Block drawings, JB drawings, Cable Schedule, Drum Schedule, Cable routing, Instrument Location drawings, F&G Layouts, control room drawings, Tray Layout, Hook Up Drawings, Instrument Location Layouts, Loop & Logic Diagrams, System Architecture Drawings, Graphic Drawings etc.
- Proficient in S3D/Revit modelling – Equipment modelling, Raceway, Grounding and lighting.
- Prepares design calculations as applicable, to be used in the discipline.
- Prepares bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.
- Reviews calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned.
- Review of vendor drawings including control system wiring and panel drawings all other interfaces for design deliverables.
- Preparation and checking of mechanical packages C&I design documents, Experience in Electrical Standards, codes.
- Hands on experience in 3D model review tools such as Naviswork freedom/ manager, smart plant review.
What we need from you
- Electrical/instrumentation related Engineering Degree with at least 5 plus years of work experience in Professional/ Engineering in Electrical/Instrumentation Drawing & Drafting/CAD with 5 years of Experience in :
- Electrical/instrumentation design & selection of electrical components in S3D /SPI/SPEL respectively in design, drafting & engineering firms
- Ability to apply engineering best practices, codes, and standards to identify issues, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.
- Admin Exp in SPEL or SPI is an added advantage
- Experience in using Navisworks for model review and clash detection, proficiency in SPR.
- Extraction and preparation of material quantity take-offs from design drawings.
- Skill in leading the technical work of less experienced designers and/or drafters who share in the design effort.
- Knowledge of electrical physical design related to equipment like HVAC, Chilled Water Systems, condenser Water Systems, Pump controls,
- Decent proficiency in using PC applications (eg: MS Office, Internet, Email).
- Strong proficiency in English both oral and written.
- Highly preferred work experience in Oil and Gas/Power and other related industries.
- Behavioural Competences: Strong communication skills and quick learner. Be a good team player. Ability to prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities for the area of responsibility. Flexible and adaptable to change, with track record of demonstrating initiative, analytical capabilities and problem solving.
