The Emergency Response Team and Business Continuity Planning Program Manager (ERT/BCP PM) will provide hands-on subject matter expertise and leadership in support of Applied Materials’ emergency response and business continuity programs in India. This position will collaborate with individuals from all departments globally to implement, maintain, and execute the ERT/BCP programs in Bengaluru (Bangalore) and Mumbai.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Develop, coordinate, and advise the volunteer Emergency Response and Business Continuity Programs in India.
  • Develop policies, standard operating procedures, templates, and documentation in support of the deployment, management, and sustainability of ERT/BCP in India while coordinating with the Global management based in the corporate headquarters.
  • Maintain the Regional Crisis Management Plan (RCMP) and the Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
  • Serve as the ERT program manager for India and support site Emergency Coordinators with recruiting and training volunteers, managing equipment, and reviewing response procedures.
  • Plan annual BCP tabletop exercises and train the regional crisis team for actual events.
  • Plan and conduct ERT training drills and presentations to volunteers. 
  • Perform business impact analysis (BIAs) and risk assessments for the India RCMP.
  • Perform regular reviews and updates to all BCP and ERT program materials to ensure that all program documentation’s quality and accuracy is maintained.
  • Provide BCP and ERT training and awareness communication for regional employees and targeted training to the BCP and ERT teams.
  • Complete and review comprehensive ERT incident reports written by volunteers.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the ERT/BCP programs. 
  • Interface with local outside emergency services, company management, employees, and ERT volunteers.
  • Respond to emergency incidents, and the environment.  This includes performing various functions such as First Aid provider, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Incident Commander.
  • Ensure appropriate internal and external notifications are made promptly during emergency events.
  • Perform required inspection and maintenance of ERT/BCP equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure that all site Emergency Response plans, activities, and operations comply with applicable local regulations and Global ERT procedures.
  • Perform continuous monitoring of program activities to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Required Qualifications


  • Strong program management and execution skills (Required)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Required)
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business continuity, emergency management, emergency response, or disaster recovery (Required)
  • BA/BS in Emergency Management, Business Resiliency Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field (Preferred)
  • Experienced in using business continuity planning and emergency notifications systems (Preferred)
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal communication skills and the ability to navigate complex organizations (Required).
  • Successfully complete physical medical examination as specified by Applied Materials prior to any offer (Required)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification and demonstrated experience (Required), and Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician Basic (Preferred)
  • Hazardous Materials Technician, HAZWOPER certification, or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Incident Command System (ICS) course 100 and 200 required and on the job ICS experience (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental-related regulations (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials response Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) “levels of protection” (required). Hazmat Technician or Fire Department Firefighter I (Preferred)
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment or equivalent high hazard environment (Preferred)
  • Experience conducting formal inspections, e.g., hazardous materials or safety equipment (Preferred)
  • Occasional domestic and international travel 20%
  • May be required to work off-hours and weekends for emergency events.
