Job Description:
Role Definition:
As an Electrical System Design Engineer , you will directly contribute to the concept, development, design of Electrical Harness for the off highway Caterpillar products or function.
Will be involved in the projects of New Product Introduction (NPI), current production issue (CPI), and manage the required engineering work to support those projects. Also, will be involved engineering maintenance work to support the product in cost reduction activities, and continuous product improvement in the field to provide high-quality and competitive products for our customers.
Need to have deep collaboration with the global engineering team, product groups, operations, purchasing, and other stakeholders to support Caterpillar products.
This position will be responsible for:
- Design and development of complex engineering Harness projects related to development electrical, ensuring products provide superior customer value compared to the competition in terms of cost, features, performance, durability, quality, manufacturing, velocity, and serviceability.
- Evaluate new products and competitive products and perform product design.
- Coordinate and oversee the creation of designs and models, analytical work, drawing packages, design guides, and other engineering-related documents as needed.
- Create new designs and resolve issues regarding the manufacturing or building sequences, ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
- Participate in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer-aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Plan and improve engineering procedures and operations to make the product or process more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.
- Collaborate with all the cross functional team to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer.

Technical Skills:
- Deep technical experience and knowledge of Electrical harness integration design and development
- Hands on Experience on Creo harness Modelling, detailing, Teamcenter, and Bill of Material creation
- Knowledge and experience of new product introduction (NPI).
- Knowledge and experience of engineering maintenance work.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems :
- Could anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in design, manufacturing and testing areas.
- Align with the product strategy, understanding complex technical problems and demonstrating the ability to develop creative solutions.
