Job Description :



Role Definition:
Assists in the design, analysis, development, and testing of Electrical & Electronics components used in construction machinery. This position is responsible to provide “end to end” technical service and expertise for the concept, design, detailing, development and validation of the machine electrical & electronics systems & harnesses, which mainly include electrical system schematics, machine cab and chassis harnesses for products, such as wheel loaders, Backhoe loader, track-type tractors, hydraulic excavators, paving products and other Caterpillar products and also responsible to provide support the NPI, CPI and maintenance activities on past, current and future Caterpillar products.
Responsibilities

Develop electrical system & subsystem concepts, block diagrams, and have design review with team to finalize the system design, and subsystem & components selection.

Generate concepts/designs to meet technical and manufacturability objectives.

Support in identifying risk using DFMEAs.

Verify/validate risk in the design through FEA verification techniques.

Present Design Review Packs and presentation at the Design Review

Use of virtual risk mitigation techniques (e.g. Stack-tolerance analysis, Hand calculations, component & sub-system simulation)

Use SME review and best practice guides to mitigate risk in potential designs.

Purchase team collaboration to identify potential suppliers.

Conduct Concurrent Process and Product Development (CPPD) (CPPD) activities with internal and external partners, deliver the whole cab and chassis electrical system schematics, and release schematics and harnesses drawings to Caterpillar engineering system with excellent drawing quality.

Analysing component cost quoted against the Should Cost tool.

Collaboration with internal customers, such as Manufacturing Engineering, Receiving and line quality, and the operations team, is essential for safety and ease of assembly. Regular communication and coordination with these teams.

Support for New Product introduction & Continuous Product Improvement projects to guarantee that the end customer experiences the expected levels of component reliability and durability.

Support field validation to make sure deliverables meet customer / Technical requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's / Master's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering – Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience:
Preferred 8 years of relevant experience can be negotiated based on the skill level.
