We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Lead Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and instrumentation, specifically within power plants, including biomass and waste heat recovery boiler systems. This role requires a leader with expertise in electrical systems, such as cable, motor, panel, and switchgear sizing calculations, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of E&I engineers.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Engineering and Calculations:
  • Hands on Experience in sizing calculations for switchgear, motors, panels, and cables, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry standards.
  • Oversee the selection, specification, and integration of DCS (Distributed Control Systems), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), MCCs (Motor Control Centers), switchgear, and instrumentation.
  • Apply industry knowledge in power plant systems, particularly for biomass and waste heat recovery boiler projects.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and manage a team of electrical and instrumentation engineers, providing guidance, technical support, and mentorship to develop team capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment to encourage innovation, problem-solving, and technical excellence within the team.
  • Project Coordination and Support:
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support engineering requirements for project execution, including cable and cable tray layout and vetting.
  • Work closely with project managers and other departments to ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Technical Documentation and Compliance:
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Siemens and industry standards.
  • Ensure all design and engineering activities align with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or instrumentation engineering or a related field.
  • : 15-20 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in power plant projects, particularly biomass and waste heat recovery boilers, is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in DCS, VFD, MCC, switchgear, and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of sizing calculations for electrical components, including cables, motors, and panels.
  • Experience with cable and cable tray layout, sizing, and vetting.
  • Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
