About the position:
The Electrical Engineer is part of the Materials, Equipment, and Quality team within Chevron’s ENGINE Center and provides support to the Chevron Technical Center Electrical Power Systems team. This role supports developing and reviewing main one-line electrical and protection diagrams, providing design and drafting for electrical distribution systems, and creating Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) models from one-line diagrams and associated documentation for assets across Chevron.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and / or review main one-line electrical and protection diagrams
Provide design and drafting for electrical distribution systems
Create ETAP models from one-line diagrams and associated documentation
Conduct power-system studies such as load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, ground grid design and arc flash
Prepare specifications and data sheets for electrical equipment
Review and comment on vendor documentation for electrical equipment
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering from a recognized (AICTE) university
Requires developing significant electrical engineering expertise, and desire to be a mentor and consultant
Candidate must have a long-term interest in specializing in electrical engineering technology
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of industrial electrical power system experience, this includes design and installation in complex brownfield and greenfield facilities
Professional Engineer registration (or equivalent) desired and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) a plus
Prior experience advising capital projects, operations, maintenance and facility management on power system design and operations and, in particular power generation and distribution systems, including large rotating electrical equipment, protective relaying, fast load shedding, etc. Electrical equipment and electrical system integrity and reliability
5+ years of field experience working in Oil and Gas Operating environment
Prior experience working with ETAP software
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
