Job Description

Your responsibilities :- Drive the HSE activities at the facility and implement identified improvements together with the local management. Secure the alignment with legal and Hitachi Energy’s global requirements and address when needed. Coach and guide all levels of management, supervisors, and employees at the facility to establish a safety culture, prevention activities, and collaborative approach. Conduct and lead the basic concepts such as risk assessment, environmental aspects & impact assessment, training programs, etc., Knowledge of Chemical Safety, Electrical Safety, lifting operations, and Material handling is essential. Follow up and supervise the HSE performance, hazards, risks, and precautions. Participate the incident prevention programs, workshop sessions, and incident investigation and analysis studies. Provide competency-based health, safety, and environmental training for Hitachi Energy’s employees and contractors’ staff when required· Perform the periodical or non-periodical reporting within Hitachi Energy or to local authority and other required parties, Participate in the internal and external audits of environmental and industrial safety management systems, customer, or supplier HSE assessments, and waste management initiatives. Act as a coach and advisor to the supervisory team and employees on shifts. Complete daily handover to peers at shift change. Organize activities to promote employee and supervisor awareness, increase their participation and encourage the adoption of safe behaviors. Your background :- Ideally, he/she will have a bachelor’s degree or above, major in Health, Safety, and environment. 7-10 years of EHS experience at industrial facilities· Having Industrial Safety and environmental officer qualifications from Govt. authorized institutes valid for appointment of Safety Officer in Gujarat. Competent with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Preferably having internal auditor certificates for both management systems. Knowledge about occupational risk assessment methodologies and techniques along with the usage of SAP / ERP systems will be an added advantage. Multilingual ability with good presentation skills will be added advantage. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
