Role Details
The COO Divisional Data Execution Specialist has a passion for Business tailored, automated Data end-to-end solutions and the ambition to provide single sourced, quality-controlled Data. If this is your mindset and area of development, you will play a key role in the development of the DWS Data landscape in line with the DWS Data strategy and data governance framework. Reporting into the COO Divisional Data Execution lead and in co-operation with the COO Data Community, you will execute on the COO Data Domain which is having the most complex and highest bandwidth of Data, and Understand, assess and propose amendments if appropriate to the COO Data structure and Data lineage.
Action on critical Data against the DWS Core Data Management standards:
- Perform Gap Assessment
- Document Data structure and Data lineage and working together with the team, provide solution
- Provide uplift plan and ensure execution
- Ensure Data Control implementation
- Support the COO Division to collect, document, and maintain Metadata
- Support the COO Division to define, monitor and report on Divisional Data metrics.
- Log identified Data Quality issues in corresponding tool and track or ensure their remediation.
- Identify Business Data Use Cases and Benefits resulting from the simplification of Data lineage and the critical Data uplift plan implementation.

Your key responsibilities
The COO Division is a key enabler for DWS and is integral to the future success of the company by delivering world-class services across a set of key functions. It covers essential Technology and Operations capabilities, including our data programs and digital transformation. The COO aims to deliver a platform which is efficient, scalable, resilient and agile.
Within the COO Division, the DWS Chief Data Office is responsible for designing and driving the execution of the data strategy at Group and Divisional/functional level as well as coordinating adherence to Data related processes and policies and any applicable local regulations.
On all COO Divisional Data Execution activities performed in your location:
- Provide an overall plan and track against the provided DWS Data Strategy and Governance targets
- Represent the COO Divisional Data Execution Lead in Forum
- Be a central escalation point of contact and solution facilitator for COO Divisional Data Leads and experts to address cross-divisional Data Quality and Data Governance risks and issues.
- From your execution on the COO Data, tailor, consolidate and promote Best Practice and the relevant DWS-wide Data Quality and Governance tools.
Your skills and experience
- Minimum Bachelor degree with focus on Business Administration, Business Information Technology or similar.
- 5 years experience in Asset Management and / or Data Governance and Transformation
- Ability to analyse and prioritise complex and incomplete data and / or process and transform into governed, single-sourced and quality controlled data solutions.
- Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop creative and structured solutions.
- Proven knowledge of Process and / or Change Management to deliver highly challenging projects and mitigate risk within timeframe.
- Software and / or Programming knowledge, for example Excel Macros, Power Automate, Power Query, Power BI, Python etc.
- Experience with the implementation of Data Governance and Data Quality within a global financial services environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, bringing in a solid network within DWS Divisions and / or DB Group Data functions.
- Proven leadership and ability to build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a strategic level.
- Excellent communication in English, both in listening and conveying messages to a wide range of stakeholder groups.
- Knowledge of the global regulatory landscape impacting data management in global Financial Services.
